PDR, you've worked hard and had a remarkable recovery. You're so close to a BQ, a cool, fall race will certainly do the trick for you. Mrs. Ribs

PDR, it's all good. Looking back. . . Remember a cold windy day last fall in Chicago, watching the marathon from the well-appointed sidelines and hobbling around on crutches? Looking at it today. . . Here you are having just completed a very fine stepping stone race towards the next one in the fall. For. . . Looking forward. . . it's in the bag baby. The fall will see you nail it but good. And looking ahead even just a little bit further. . . Hear the crowds? Feel the history? Smell April in the Boston air? It's yours grrrl. Awesome. Egret

Egret has summed it up perfectly, PDR. It's in the bag. What a kind offer by Dr. D. It's great to get input from the experts. You're an inspiration to so many here. What a great comeback story ... to be continued in the fall. Best of luck to you. (Did you really do a LR of 29??? I'm curious to know why ... and when.)

It is just great that you are backing running in a racing situation in such a short time (although I am sure it didn't seem short to you).Sounds like you can make plans to include Boston on your next year's races, for certainly you are on the doorstep of a BQ Thanks for sharing your report. Congratulations ------------------ vista129

I just want to add, when I visited Beer Runner and PDR at their home last month, I really got to see their human side. They are more than the sleepless pod-like running automatons you see on this site. In the evening after we enjoyed a delicious supper purchased by Lou at Popeye's, I watched PDR bury her dead goldfish in the backyard. It was truly a tender moment. As she tearfully patted the earth over her dear departed pet, the next-door neighbor leaned over the fence and said, "What are you doing?" "Burying my goldfish," said PDR. "Why such a big hole for a goldfish?" said the neighbor. "Because he was inside your cat," said PDR. Dark Horse ------------------ I'm a dark horse, running on a dark race course

PDRSorry about the late reponse, we were away on holiday for a weeks break. I think you did absolutely brilliant. You came back from an horrific injury and won, yes won, you are a winner. BQ? next time on a flatter course with many miles of recovery behind you. Well Done Roy

Final Grade: A+ In the long run, it's the first goal that counts and you clearly aced it. It was a pleasure to finally meet you PDR. You are just as nice as everyone says (and that best buddy of yours WRFB is OK too). Any lingering memories of disappointment at VCM will fade the moment you cross the finish line in your Fall marathon, having earned that entry pass for Boston. Skip
