Frank - delighted for you of course - but not surprised. You have always been a source of inspiration and competitiveness for me - and you remain so. You are a very talented and determined runner. Congrats on breaking through that important 3-hr barrier.Skip

You should be more than just "happy" Tall! Just a great job, well done! I think after a couple of weeks you'll appreciate more what you've accomplished. I'm in the middle of the Sens game (2-1) ...go Sens! PJ

Tall - just got back to the office and saw you results. This is an awesome effort - particularly on hot days.Enjoy the accomplishment - you've gone from marathon runner to marathon racer. I'm still on the sidelines, so thanks for the oppurtunity run vicariously through your race. Ray

Boston is the wild card in all of this. Looks like you looking towards 2:50 next time out. Congrats.

Wow, Tall -- a fantastic result so soon after running in Boston. Of course, with your stride, you probably only took as many steps in those two marathons as most of us do in one .You have really progressed as a runner, and with that coaching and training that you're getting, I'm sure you'll meet that 2:50 goal! ------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

Congratulations Tall! I was sure you would be under 3 hours and this is just fantastic, especially so soon after Boston. I'm sure that you will be near 2:50 in the Fall after a nice long summer training season. In the meantime, take some well deserved down time and bask in your accomplishment. Meg

congratulations on gutting out a very fine race effort! You hung on despite the gremlins hanging on, too. I'm always impressed with your grit and determination. When you go back to medium distance racing, all this strength from the marathon will help you. You will be tougher than nails and raise the bar once again. Well done, my fren from this north...

Very impressive marathon, TallRunner!!! You are a very fast boomer. Super RR, looking at the splits as they deteriorate at the end show that you put it all out on the course. Rest well now, you've got a lot to be proud of! John

It may have been my fastest marathon to date but also my most painful. No future marathons are planned for quite some time…
Yep. This was aptly titled..."Proud father of a sub 3" because the report almost read like a birth story... like you were in labor, pain and all, and then you give birth and are the proud papa. Congratulations on a well run race and for breaking 3 hours... truly an amazing accomplishment. Rest, recover, and reflect. You did fantastic.
