Great Race!!! And 750 yd swim is tough for a newbie tri! You should be proud. Great to know there are more triathletes on this boomer board!Laurie ------------------ “Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.”. Winston Churchill

Econo, way to go! You passed people on the bike and on the run. You sound like a vet. I was laughing out loud thinking about you trying to get out of the pool. Who'd think you need to train for that in T1? Excellent job and a well deserved AG award. Mark

How fun to do something new and different like a triathlon! Congratulations on your 3rd in AG! How cool is that? Just imagine what you could've done if you would've trained for it!Thanks for the hysterical report but your svelte figure is far from that of a walrus... ------------------ choover

Econo baby, what a great race you just did! I couldn't wait for this RR. You did absolutely awesome with all three disciplines as well as those transitions. You rock! Great to see Papa Econo out there supporting you. I have a hard time putting the images of T-rex and walrus together with your figure, though. You give yourself waaaay too little credit. Congratulations on the hardware, too ! j------------------ jura

Ok, the description of pulling yourself out of the pool was great. Loved it. I was right there with you! Greta job on your first tri... next time you'll have the kinks worked out! I've heard the transition from bike to running is the hardest... rubber leg thing gets in the way!------------------ evanflein

Econo rocks! Great RR. I've never thought about how a T-Rex would do in a pool. Devour the competition maybe? Congratulations on hardware in your first Tri. Lookout Pro.Tom

3cono - what a great inaugural tri-rr. I’ll take back everything I’ve ever said about triathlons in pools being like a marathon on a treadmill but you’ll have to take back that walrus stuff ‘cause I remember your mirrorrs and I’d go in any pool with a mermaid like you even though your speedy splits sound like you’ve found another calling. It’s even more fun in warm water summertime lakes where no flip turns are necessary (but I won’t do ‘em anyway, did you?).[This message has been edited by Tetsujin30 (edited Apr-23-2007).]

WOW - Impressive! I loved your RR. Nice to hear PaPa Econo was there. Mine comes to a lot of the local races - he's like my personal assistant. Great job! Are you hooked?

Woohooo, now you are a supercool goddess tri-grrrl! (does this mean you have to follow ThePro around?) Wow, You are a triple threat treat now just like Tetsujin! I am so impressed that you even did this and to get an AG award, holy cow!! And new fashion items to get? I have an uncontrollable urge to own a trisuit all of a sudden! Congratulations! You totally rock!!

Well Done Econo! Most pool swim tri's have stairs and hand rails so you just walk out. I have never heard of having to "walrus out".
The rubber leg thing after a bike ride is normal. Most experienced triathletes practice what they call bricks. Running after a bike ride. With practice, you still feel weird running, but you learn not to freak out about it. You were fantastic, and am glad you had a good time. Cash

congrats to you econo-girrrrl!AG placing is amazing. You are a natural, no doubt. I'm told that that heavy/dead leg sensation is always there after the swim/bike... Don't let us lose you to multi-sport now!! The B+B needs you. We want you on that wall... we need you on that wall... Nice race, R.

For those of you who are not familiar with tri clothing, it is skintight spandex and the bottoms are worn commando. As Econo found out, you do not want loose clothing flapping in the breeze or in the water. So be sure to demand photo's when your favorite boomer god or goddess wears tri clothing.

Congratulations Econo! What a great first tri experience for you - getting 3rd in AG is great! During my one and only triathlon, I remember vividly the bike/run transition - ugh! Of course I am a terrible biker too so, unlike you, I was passed by virtually everyone on the bike and only able to pass a few of them back on the run. I will say that the pool swim is actually kind of cool. I would like that. Swimming in the ocean is kind of tough. Anyway, congratulations on an awesome result! Meg
