Fantastic race and the funniest, most endearing RR I think I've ever read. I type LOL a lot, but your RR truly did make me laugh out loud - several times. Thanks for giving me a few giggles and lots and lots of inspiration. With a 3:10 at the Boston Northeaster-a-thon, including the 5 minutes in the almost-tipping port-a-potty, you are so NOT a non-athlete! Congrats!

Hi PBJ! Great race! You must enjoy wearing customes during rainy events! I can't imagine wearing extra stuff in a race let alone a marathon! Sounds like an unforgetable time! I enjoyed reading your RR!

You are are jesterest Jester. You made 10s of thousands people smile in one day. Congrats. And you must be in awesome shape - I just walked down 3 steps & winced at each one. 22 flights? I would have died. -Jim in Acton

Congrats on your great finish at Boston. Even taking into account your "superlessman" change, ahh strip, in a porta potty. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Makes me wish I was there too. ------------------ Good running!!! Mike's Profile

What a wonderful report! Only you would make the Boston Marathon even more memorable for everyone who sees you by wearing a costume on that special day. I am so glad you shared the pictures with us. Great race, and how nice that you were able to bond with boomers too. I wish I could have been there. Congratulations!

Joe- Great race and fantastic report! It takes us on a journey that is the Boston marathon experience. You did marvelous in poor conditions and just don't give yourself enough credit. I'm so impressed with your improvement and believe that the best is still yet to come with your running/racing. May all your racing weekends have similiar memories. Congratulations!

First of all, congratulations on breaking, if only by a hair, the challenging 3:00 barrier for a pasta dinner in Boston the night before the race. Only a select few runners are capable of reaching this "gold standard" of carbo-loading excellence. Kudos! All jesting aside, this is a wonderful RR, and you are a talented, joyful-spirited runner and writer. Congratulations on a great race. It's always a pleasure to see a race through your eyes.

PBJ,You are the best! One of my great disappointments of Monday was that I didn't have my camera ready when you came by the water stop. Thanks for posting the during and after pics. Great race. Glad the entire PBJ clan had such a fine time in Bahston. Tom

That was fabulous. Thanks so much. The only part I didn't believe was the "non-athlete" reference.

I wondered about those two pairs of tights when I was reading the fashion section of your RR, but apparently it all worked out and you were able to finish with a very respectable time. Good job on doing Boston, and another fine RR for the archives!------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

Thanks, everyone, for such heartwarming comments. My five year old, PBJ Jr., is still getting over his cold. The cold, plus lack of nap time, was the cause for his narcolepsy at mealtimes. On to VCM! (Should have photos to post within the next couple of days).

Great RR PBJ!!! You have more courage than I (1) to wait soooo long for dinner and (2) to take in the sites after the race. In better conditions and...well...better dress...you'll really be a racing fool.Mike

Damn, now my co-workers are on to me. I had on such a worker bee face until I read your antics in the portapotty. I burst out laughing and could not stop smiling at the visual of you biting through your clothes. I tried to cover and say "That is the best spreadsheet we've received in a long time" but I don't think anyone is buying it. I'm envisioning the remnants of both costumes for a Jester-nator look in your next run. great race, great read, glidegal
