mc - what a great race report! you had me there with you and you had a great time so i did as well -- speaking of time i don't know how you ran so fast and were able to play with the crowd like you did -- what a great race.

Awesome report, Solarman. Sounds like you had as much fun with the crowd as I did (well, after the costume modification, that is).

It was a pleasure watching you run - you are very gifted. Sorry I couldn't keep up, I really had to do an outfit modification.

Glad you had such a good time. Let us know the next time you'll be east; long-suffering Mrs. PBJ is offering to make you a nice dinner.

You're the nicest wise-a$$ I know, mc.

What others may not realize is that those temperatures were fuuureeezing for you thin-skinned warm weather types. If you were shivering on Monday like you were at the Freedom Run, you used up a lot of energy. Shoulda had more gu.

Note to self: NO more pictures beside mc.

Thanks for making me look like a pasty old bag, youngthang. I only felt like an old bag Monday evening.

Oh my gosh, shivering and waiting for your stuff at the end...I can imagine how awful for you, I am so glad your hotel was right there!

Congratulations!

mc, great job on the race. You obviously had a wonderful time. It must have been fun running with PBJ for a while. It looks like you have the bonking thing worked out.

Read this as soon as I saw it at work and then got a call and never got to reply. I loved this RR and am so glad you enjoyed the day. You looked fabulous as you went by aid station, I wish I was fast enough to have run drinks out to some of y'all. If anyone took the advice you gave to be happy to be there and have a greta time it was you!

Happy too that you had enough sense to come in out of the cold, there was a guy standing on the corner in a wind tunnel obviously waiting for a ride in nothing but his running stuff and a mylar blanket. He was still there next time we passed by as we were trying to park. BRRRRRR!

Awesome race and fantastic RR. So glad you had such a great race. Thanks for sharing your RR - you have no clue how inspiring it is to mere mortal newbies like me.

congratulations, Matt, on another fine marathon performance!

I think you've got this Gu thing down to a science now...That was a very enjoyable report. As has been said, your joy is palpable. Marathons are tricky when it comes to the weather, and I'd never count on Boston to make it easy on runners.

Glad you got back to the east coast and hopefully I'll get to meet up with you for more than 1 minute next time.

Rest/recover and do it all again!

Well if you can still do math over mile 20 then you must have been dogging it...

Sounds like a great experience and a fine run... The true Boston experience and it was fun to relive it through your report. - You've come a long way and seem to have found your distance...

Oh and I wanted to add how great it was that you were able to have fun and goof with the other runners and spectators. Life is too short not to enjoy it, and I am sure you made it a happier experience for those around you too. You are wonderful!

Dear mcsolar,
What a wonderful RR! Your spirits were high and your sheer determination to enjoy the event -- weather be d@mned -- is admirable and inspirational. I thought your finish time was awesome! You AZ boys are tough!

Take it easy for a while and recover completely. You deserve it.

Matt, you had a great race even if you didn't make your ultimate goal of sub 3 but with your not being able to train full tilt you did a great job and you left something to shoot for next year. The report was very well done, made me almost feel like I was there . . . oh wait i was there . . . .

MMMHHMM a math error can't they take away your telescope privileges for that.

it was good meeting you at the brunch.

Sounds like you had fun. Loved your attitude about the whole race. Also, despite missing 3 hours you still ran a hell-of-a race.
