Probably one of the most engaging reports I have read on B&B! The pics were SO good and helped tell the story. You did so GOOD, both PRing and BQing!! You will be floating for weeks!

Congrats and thanks again for helping me to relive Boston vicariously through your great report!

This is the best RR!!! The pictures are fantastic, and one couldn't help but feel the joy with which you ran such an inspired race, and beat down the demons that got you last year. I am so happy for you that you ran so well, felt so good, ran a PR in far less than ideal conditions, and earned another BQ. Congratulations, Robin!

Oh, Robin, I'm crying with delight for you, thanks to your riveting report. After last year's blowout, you had a fabulous run in The One in the Nor'easter. I'm so very, very pleased for you.

..and also in awe, because I haven't worn lipstick in 18 months. There's clearly a whole grooming standard that I need to consider.

Congratulations! (snif)

All day yesterday I kept checking B&B, thinking "where's Robin?", "what happened to Robin?", "why no RR?", etc. Well, I obviously had nothing to worry about and it was well worth the wait. I'm going to have to see if there a way that I can pull this RR onto my computer -- pics and all of course -- to save and savor in the future. There will definitely be no "late fee" fines for this report!

And of course congratulations on your great PR/BQ, and for obviously exorcising last year's demons for good. You are a great runner, with many more accomplishments ahead of you.

Robin,

Congrats on the PR and BQ. Way to make up for last year. Excellent RR including pics.

Hopefully I get a chance to see you in Boston next year. I just have that slight problem of a BQ to take care of.

FYI - My DW makes me carry my cellphone with me in races (at least long ones). It came in handy in Detroit last year when I struggled. Maybe one of these days I will remember that it can takes pics also!.

greta job!

Robin,

This was such a greta race report! Congratulations to you on running so well, dressing so smartly, taking such good pictures and BQing again. Nice to have such a good sister along for support.

See you at the Boomer Water Stop next year.

This explains why women marathoners are slower than men. They have to keep stopping to check their make-up.

Great report Robin, thanks!

Robin,

Great report, and the photos made it very special--maybe unique!

I always like to hear what lipstick the wimmen choose, too. :-)

I didn't tear up, though--must be a gal thing.

Well Robin, thanks for writing this treatise just for me. As you know, I always pay extra special attention to your lip cover of choice when you post you race reports, so I am particularly pleased you chose to highlight this topic for Boston. You're fabulous!

Congrats on your PR under what were obviously not ideal conditions. Fantastic effort!

Fabulous race, fabulous report, fabulous photos, but most of all what a fabulous goddess you are, gorgeous and fast!
Your outfit was so perfect, your attitude so sunny and joyous, and what a wonderful Boston you had. And you deserved each glorious minute of it!
Thank you so much! Congratulations!
Next year you should wear Triumphant Pink!

Woohoo Robin, what a triumphant return to Boston for you! Congratulations on the new PR and qualifying for Boston next year. Thanks for the terrific race report and loads of pictures. They really help one get a sense of what the race was like. I am so happy to hear that the weather was not the huge downer that everyone was expecting and that the crowd support remained huge. Awesome report and race!!

If anyone writes a report better than this one I will be amazed. The pics were great! (What? You brought a camera on the course and took pictures??? That's a dollar! And I know it was a phone, but it's still a dollar!)

But I am glad you took them because it really brought the race to life for all of us. Wow!

And now to your PR and BQ. I knew you had it nailed Robin because your training in the last 6 weeks was awesome. You did hill work, long runs on the course and your attitude was ferocious. I am so happy for you.

And gorgeous lips too! Great job, Spareribs

that was a terrific report which was only outdone by the magnificient race you ran!

congratulations on getting another BQ!

Those pictures really captured the essence of the challenge brought on by the weather and how you persevered despite it. Smiling and grinding it out.

Absolutely fabulous.

well Robin - you may not have teared up as you saw the finish line up ahead, but I did! LOL Your report was so wonderful and I felt like I was there with you. You captured the essence of your race day so beautifully! And a cell phone camera! GREAT idea!! I was sort of bumming that no one would be there to take pics during my first HM (DH is not coming), but I do have a cell phone camera! I might just have to give that one a shot!

Congratulations on such a fine strong run and the PR and BQ on top of it all is just stupendous!!

Thanks for this wonderful report, and taking us along with you! I've never felt so much a part of someone's experience in a race report... I've always wondered what Boston looked like! Thanks again and a hugh congratulations on the PR and a new BQ!! That's wonderful.

Ribs, I'll gladly pay up my dollar! It was good to have the phone with me. But just a point of clarification...some of the mid-race photos were lifted from other sources. Only the pre-race and post-race photos were from the cellphone!

But I'm liking the video cam idea for next year.

If your day job doesn't work out, I see a future in race reporting...or fashionista consulting. Your amazing training served you in good stead and your comments with the pix made your RR jump off the page...I had to put on a slicker and boots just to read the final sections...brrrrr. AWESOME PR and BQ--- last year's misery served to make this year's victory even sweeter. Go eat a brownie, knowing you are signed up for next year. Oh, color for next year? Woman of Steel Watermelon. glidegal
