Nice race, Jim -- glad the awful wind wasn't as bad as forecast. Still the times were slow, so you can be quite proud of the 3:52 finishing time.Oh, and happy birthday! Lou

Great run and great report.... Except you are supposed to tell us how it was 10X worse than reported and you ran the whole way with the wolves at your heals etc. You make it sound like a picnic.Seriously - great job thanks for sharing. Ray

Hi Jim,Thanks for the excellent RR, and congratulations on having a fine, fine run, and a terrific birthday. Good for you for not letting the mind demons get to your during the race when it would have been so easy to slow down or go to a walking mode. I'm glad the weather cooperated, at least to the extent that it wasn't nearly as bad as the forecast. Jay

Great report, and congrats on your sub-4! I found that the Village can be a bit tedious, also, hanging out and you made the best of it in those muddy conditions.BR ------------------ Barefoot Running ... So easy, a caveman could do it!" - Barefoot Rick @ www.barefootrunner.org

Jim,Congratulations. You were looking very good as you passed the water stop in Newton. I'm glad you race went so well and that you finished feeling so good. We are almost neighbors, as I live about 30 minutes west on Route 2 from Acton. Tom

Jim, those of us who just finished Knoxville in similar conditions (less the gusty wind), know full well the mental toughness behind the words in your RR. Great race nicely run. Wonderful to have the family and friend support you were afforded.Good running Jim Jim

Jim...Congratulations and happy birthday! What a prefectly executed, intelligent plan. By setting that goal you were able to share with us the joy of the last 6 miles. That just sounds like a magical Boston experience. Just the way it should be! Steve

Happy Belated Birthday, Jim!!!What a smooth run; you make it sound super easy. It was great to meet you at Henry and Marj's brunch. Apologies to you and anyone else I was forcing Nanaimo bars upon ... with any luck, maybe they were a decent carb load.
