Nice job for the entire family! Even if not up to your expectations, it was enough for an AG win, which is always sweet. Congrats to Mrs. Ribs too on her huge PR and Riblet on his great time! A good day for the entire clan.

Running a race with spouses and kids rocks Mr Ribs!!!!! If our goals were easy, victory would not be as sweet. Maybe one of us could come up with a hill repelent.

Congrats to all of the Ribses. You're a great runner to run that fast on an off-day and still win your AG (I bet easily). Excellent racing for mrs and Riblet too!

Even though it wasn't the race you expected you still ran a good race. Nice negative splits too.

Congratulations on the new sneakers.

Nice runs for Mrs Ribs and Riblet as well.

Congratulations on a fast race. It may not have been as fast as hoped but it was still darn fast! Nice that you got your new shoes, and also had a memorable and fun day with the family. Paavo

Geez, Ribs: I thought you were above all that false modesty with running that fast at your advanced age and apparently winning your AG. But congratulations anyway to the entire Ribs family on an event well run!

Congratulations on the new pair of shoes! Even if this wasn't the race you hoped for, it was worth it for the shoes. And a hugh congratulations to Mrs. Ribs and Riblet on great new PRs.

Your rr's with gems of wisdom applicable to fast runners and BOP'ers alike have been sorely missed so I'm sorry you not only had a disappointing run but, adding insult to injury, were given a cruel consolation prize of a new pair of shoes too, probably some heavy training model that will be even slower.

However, in spite of the shoes, you should be very proud if it was the only the hill or wind (or both) that ruined the run and not something else that many of us have given up being able to do anything about.

Having spent some time in the Dallas area a couple of years ago, I was worried about the storms when I heard of them. Glad it didn't directly affect you.

Too bad your goals weren't meant to be on this day, but it's never bad to do well in an AG and especially winning new shoes. (I need a new pair but that'll never happen!).

Congrats to your family on their fun and successful race.

I really enjoy reading these reports where families are involved in running together. And your family in particular inspires so well. Thank you for your encouragement, and congratulations to your wife and son as well for their PR's. New shoes ... icing ... Cindy

Great report Ribs!! I think you ran fine, as it was under your personal expectations, I'm sorry you didn't perform as well as you hoped. But on the up side, your family did very very well and there is much enjoyment and satisfaction in knowing that. I know you are very proud of them both!

Ribs,

I know you weren't satisfied with your time, but there were many many positives from the race. Running with your family and winning some shoes sounded great! The season is still early, and we know you will get to where you want soon enough.

Spareribs,

Activities (races included) with the family are always the best. Your posts are always full of info for novice (like me) and experienced runners alike. That you had a disappointing day, but still had fun, pretty much sums up why we run. I know you are extremely proud of MrsRibs (a big PR) & Riblet (3rd in AG and PR; WOW) and going out to run them in is just great sounds like a perfect day. And then you get free shoes, also.

You old Dark Horse (sorry DH) you won your ag, I think the time was brilliant but I know you are a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to running and training, oh, spelling and grammar aswell. When me and the bos go out for a run on the last tenth I do the exact same, ' come on just that little bit extra, go for it'
Mrs Ribs & Riblet fantastic Mrs Ribs great PR and what a time for a 10 year old. Well done all 3
Happy Days

So, even though your time wasn't what you wanted it to be, every Rib won! Two PRs and an AG win are better than most families will see in one race. It is very cool that you all get out to run and race together, and are so supportive of one another. What a wonerful way to enrich your individual running while bringing the family that much closer together. Congratulations to you all as much for running as a family as for your individual accomplishments.

But where is the family fashion report...?

gah, i still don't understand the part about it being a fast course with a big hill in the first mile.

sounds like a fine job given the course and conditions ribs. throw in a new pair of shoes and a great day for the riblet and mrs saint, and i bet you're smiling about it by now. keep at it, you're doing an inspiring job with your comeback training and racing.

Spareribs,

A great day for the Ribs family, and I particularly want to congratulate Mrs. Ribs for her huge PR.

But I also want to congratulate Riblet on his PR, and on his participation in the same race with Mom and Dad--that's the best part of the report and the day!

Heck, I have to admit, winning your age group is pretty good, too. I've never won anything, but I'm not bitter. The worm of envy does not gnaw at my heart. Not at all.
