I was wondering if both Solar and DaveinAA could post the links to their music mixes here. I know they've been in daily threads in the past, but I would have no idea where to find them now.

purty please????

AAmix1 is here.

Thanks again to mcsolar for making the big mp3 file out of my playlist, and for inspiring this project with his first few mixes.

thanks Tammy! I have Dave's & love it (thanks Dave :-) )
but the solar mixes (I found them online) make my pc freeze.
I try again every so often, so would love the right link.

Dave,
you prolly missed my posts the last couple of days, but I mentioned it more then once how much I enjoy AAmix. It's great warm-up medley to get me "in the mood", and it helped me take it home on yesterday's long run. Thanks for putting it together.

Hey jura, I did notice and commented in the daily today. I think I could have used it myself on my long run yesterday... Glad you like.

A quick consultation with the oracle at Google yields:
http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/Forum13/HTML/008218-2.shtml

Mixes 6 and 7 (very highly recommended) are exercises left to the reader.

dg9, try right clicking on the links and saving the mp3 to disk, then do whatever you normally do with mp3's.

Dave, that was a strange happenstance for you yesterday. I hope you're okay. Yip, Jura!

I'm really enjoying solarmix4 and AAmix1. How can you go wrong at ANY time with RHCP. Swoon, swoon, swoon.

The Oldest Grunge Girl in the Universe is wondering when Grunge Mix One and Only will be ready. Don't forget Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

oops, i think i moved some of the mixes off the server. will move the mp3 files back on tomorrow. solarmix7 is two hours, all the others are just over an hour.

solarmix1 playlist1 mellow; originally inspired by econo; mix with hits, worldbeat

solarmix2 playlist2 angry music from satan himself; please do not operate firearms or heavy machinery while this is playing. seriously. open only after 2 hours of hard running.

solarmix3 playlist3 punk rock girls go surfing, some pounding beats and classic surf tunes.

solarmix4 playlist4 mellow; all MC Solaar, french rap

solarmix5 playlist5 mellow; instigated by my coach; mix of classical music

solarmix6 playlist6 instigated by egret, morphed into rock and roll phoenix music.

solarmix7 playlist7 very very mellow; injury comeback music. all female vocals remixed or set to trip-hop beats; nora jones, ella fitzgerald and some international greats.

Methinks, DaveinAA has been listening to his mixes at a too high volume. How could he ever include me as part of that clan? Most I am seriously unworthy to be mentioned with. Mick Jagger I would hope I'm not like. (grin)

Bill

PS: I've been working on a mix also but it'll be seriously less esoteric than what DaveinAA and McSolar have put together. My list most of us actually have heard of before!

those are some nice tunes dtoce; just heard that switchfoot tune last week when they played a concert at a local radio station.

if you've mixed it all into one mp3 file you can just access your mp3 player from your "my computer" directory and transfer it to your pc. if the songs are individual mp3 files then i'd be happy to mix it for you, if you can get the files to me via cd or the web. send an email.

This is a great thread.

Trouble is I downloaded Mcsolar's first play list, it started playing on real time, I had to go out and now I can't find kit
I also checked, quick time and windows media.
See, I am useless on these things.

roy, like markguy said above, right click on the link, highlight "save target as" from the menu, and then store the file to your pc's local disk. then open it with windows media player or any other player that you like. or download it to your portable player and take it on a run... they're all run-tested and work fairly well. except mix2, you should never try to run with that one playing

Nothing defines differences in ages like what music you're familiar with. When I recently got the 2-CD set of the Who's greatest hits, I knew all of the songs on the first CD and my DW knew all the songs on the second (10 years diff).

I already downloaded Dave's mix and put it in my player, so I guess I'll try some of mcsolar's and see what you kids are up to these days.

that's funny. I know most of these, don't know where that leaves me. of course, so does my DD. :-)

I haven't run to music, (& so am just listening to the above mixes for fun) but have been thinking of what would be good--- do many of you try to match your cadance? there are a few things that I've been thinking might work... then I forget to play them in my head when I run... mostly older stuff so far..
Jeff Beck 'I've Been Used'
Pat Metheney "Third Wind"
Arlo Guthrie "Washington County"
Winton Marsalis "Elveen"

it's fun to think about anyway. but as I'm supposed to be working...

et-- change metheney's distance to 'third wind'. toward the end he does that layering time frame thing which is my favorite thing. i wonder what that's called. also maybe 'last train home' even though that gets played too much.

From solarmix7 playlist:

Some typos just make me

I love listening to Christine Ellen Hynde and band again. I think Middle of the Road would be a good running tune, esp. for the early morningers. Oh, to be that kewl.
