Some typos just make me I love listening to Christine Ellen Hynde and band again. I think Middle of the Road would be a good running tune, esp. for the early morningers. Oh, to be that kewl.[/B][/QUOTE] I like that. another that i wonder about, but slower (i do not know yet what is a 'normal' running pace), & cheerful but not quite to the point where you gag...http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1655632055.

This would be a good place to post a related book review: "This Is Your Brain on Music" by Daniel Levitin. A really good read for musicians as well as us non-musicians. It explains the latest findings regarding our brain's neurological affinity for music, which is why music has been part of every known culture going back as far as we know. Lots of interesting facts and research, including a piece on why you can get a song stuck in your head, and why those stupid advertising jingles are more likely to get stuck that way (no, it isn't just to annoy you!).Anyway, this is a recent release, but I was able to get it from our local library (also saw it at Barnes & Noble). ------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

Oh mc mc. I don't know what to say. My workout called for a 25 minute warm up then 6 x 400 meter repeats. I loaded the solarmix2 and solarmix3 to my iPod Shuffle. Right out of the gate I hit the solarmix2. I first have to say that I am a big Nine Inch Nails fan and appreciate heavier stuff, but WOW!!!! Speed Metal with Cookie Monster Vocals were screaming at me within 1 minute of the run. My first mile came at me in 6:49. SLOW DOWN!!!! No such luck. At around the 2.5 mile mark I found myself either air drumming or laughing out loud at my reaction to the music. I looked like a lunatic with headphones....but I couldn't stop listening to see what was next. Your mix truly fueled my run and I kept having to slow down. I got through my repeats and made the smart choice to switch to the surf music for my cool down. Thanks for taking the time to a) put the mix together and b) post them. I will make sure NOT to bring this music with me to Boston, otherwise someone might get hurt.

i hear things that have a mood i'd like, then the bpms don't sound right. again, from an old new maf plodder. is there a general criteria? :-) i fluble toward a lot of things. relieved to hear jj is functional. eta: roch, i'd love to read about the "latest findings regarding our brain's neurological affinity for music". our library has it too, i just put in a request for it. thanks for the book review. -) [This message has been edited by dg9 (edited Apr-12-2007).]

solarmix8 playlist8 high energy seattle grunge-mix, inspired by sans souci; you may never need caffeine again. almost all the energy of solarmix2, with only 10% of the evil.[This message has been edited by mcsolar99 (edited Apr-30-2007).]

I spent a lot of time "playing stick" back in the day grunge ruuuuled. It had a good effect on my game as I could beat almost any sleeve-tattooed grungehead that put down a challenge. Seems to me it didn't harm my dart game either. Now that I'm such a clean, um, liver, mc, I feel a HUGH PR coming with the help of solarmix8.
