Congratulations on your boring, out-of-focus PR on a course with a "longer wicked hill at 12-13!" If losing your focus results in a PR every time, then maybe that is something I should work on... I also agree that, even if you didn't hit your sekret goal this time, you were clearly close enough for you to know that it is well within your reach. Keep up the good (yawn...) work! Jay

I am often encouraged by runners who are not satisfied with their performance if they have a reasonable view of how it could be better. It appears that although you ran a new best time, you do have a view on improving it, and that is a good thing. Considering how well you handled the hills and how you felt in general, I would say you have all kinds of potential to meet your goals. Evening out the mile splits would be one key step. You can practice goal pace on the track so you get it locked in and then you won't go out too fast. Nice job overall, and good report. Spareribs

I have run a few times when I thought I had died on the course, but no one ever found me.Great report and congratulations on the PR. Sometimes focus is lost because it is directed in another area. That sounds like an over simplification, but it is true nonetheless. If there was something else that had your attention, either mentally or physically, it would take away your racing focus......IMO Can't imagine you to be boring, especially running at that good a pace. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your next race which will undoubtedly bring a new PR ------------------ vista129

Rosie and Lil E: Bolder Boulder is a definate YES!!!! Rosie, a trip to Colorado at that time of year would be a lovely thing to do! Fun race with over 50,000 of your closest friends!! You asked about training with all of our snow this year...yes, it was tough. Lots of treadmill miles!Ilene - I think Centennial's history of the Platte River is interesting...unfortunately the viaducts have replaced the roads of old and the sights are not nearly what you would expect. Wildchild - SLacker sounds like a great run -- I don't know about that one, but I will probably do Georgetown to Idaho Springs again this year. I agree with all of you who have graciously given me suggestions and advice...fuel fuel fuel for focus focus focus! I definately will work on that! Thanks all!!
