Great report Karl and a sub 5 hour marathon, congrat's. You truly deserve the title of Maniac. Sounds like you trained well for the race and performed as expected, so you must be very happy with the results. Now rest up, those marathons take a lot out of a person. Only 5 weeks until Avenue of the Giants - by the way.. are you doing the full marathon or 1/2 marathon for that one? Sherie

WTG Karl! Those Daniels workouts are really making a difference. And, no shuffling afterwards is a sign of true maniac-dom. You're ready to do another one. ;p

That would be the full. We don't get credit for the half in the Insane Asylum. I am so glad to see you running again! Updated profile below: took out the 20-minute slower PR. ------------------ My Profile

Twenty minutes? Karl, that is so hugh!I just KNEW you were due for a big breakthrough. I'm freakin' happy for you too. Maybe marathoning in the PNW is good for you, so get your sub-5 Maniac tush back up here for another! This is really great. Congratulations!

That would be: 5/20 Karl Rysted - Capital City Marathon, Olympia WA I do believe there is something to learn from every race. Vancouver taught me that it's possible to pull a muscle at mile 8 and still finish the marathon. And along with Royal Vic, they prepared me to run in the rain, something I hardly do otherwise. It's dry and in the 80's F here today.

Sorry, but I'm reliving the moment now that my pics are in and want to share. Here's my best imitation of trying to literally fly across the finish line: ------------------ My Profile
