makes all those cold, dark, morning miles seem like a dream now, huh? you had so much training under your gu belt that all the curve balls they threw at you didn't even phase you...now that's good prep. can't add any more than what's been said: you rocked the river run! glidegal

Wow, page 4! Congratulations on a fine race under trying conditions. You've certainly set the bar high for (1) racing fashion and FR, (2) fast first marathons, and (3) great photos, perfectly sized. I look forward to many more marathon reports. I will not be at all surprised to see you writing about hardware next year at this time, and you won't be needing that 9:40 pace band. You did make us proud. WTG, Marathoner! Watch out, though--kids' speed increases a lot from ages 10 to 12. ------------------ Fortunate--a volleyballer with a running problem Profile

Official results: 4:13:29 (from gun time, because the mats were not laid out in time for marathoners. My watch said 4:13:24, but who’s counting?) 59th/88 Overall 13th/20 Females 4th/5 in my AG 9 out of the 12 women who finished before me were older than me – these were some tough, fast, Boomer women! And a fast group in general. Some fine runners there.Ilene – you’re making me blush… Wildebeast – bikini pics? I gained 2 lbs this weekend! This is a serious setback for the weightloss pact. Fran – no stairs, but a couple of crash-landings to the toilet seat. I think I need those little rails… My husband said he was watching people come (staggering) in, and that I came in with much more energy than any that he saw. Of course, these people were coming in BEFORE me, but it makes me think I didn’t work hard enough. Thank you so much, you fabulous Boomers, for all the kind words! ------------------ Holly

Looks like I'm a little late . . . but I did see your quick report in the daily Sunday.Awesome race! I can't imagine running without mile markers! It's a good thing you had your HRM. I was doubly shocked you were able to go out for an easy 6 miler today! You must have had some left in you yesterday. I've yet to be able to walk the day after . . . So when's your next one? Congrats again and I love the skirt! Does it come in pank?

Great race and report! The photos were a very nice addition. You held up well in that heat. I wonder if the combination of the heat and the excitement of the race drove up your HR? I'm glad you did better in Dayton than my Sooner women!------------------ My Profile
