My handle falls into the boring list, just my first and middle name ... Donna Kay. What can you expect from someone with an education in accounting and computers???? I tried to think of a clever replacement but it's impossible. Sigh.

Don't forget the newbie in the crowd, rochrunner's Giant Sedona. Edited to say: Wally and MrsWally (Macy) will probably be going out for a leisurely 20 mile fall leaf-peeping ride this long Columbus Day weekend. Also, I saw divechief's note on pg 3, but I still can't find anything. [This message has been edited by ajhjc (edited Oct-07-2005).]

oh boy, I'm in big trouble now. he never once mentioned GS so I thought I'd sneak out and say "hi" but got his message deleted too. Whoops, here he comes. Got to get back. My handle was just my initials. Then Econo said she thought it looked like Egret. I liked that and I'm like that. Tallish and leggy white bird. Very pale. Not incredibly graceful on land. Slightly knock-kneed. Sort of shy. There you go, Egret.

Would you believe that when I was signing up for Kick! way back in the mists of time, I never thought to use a Handle, and simply used my name . Naturally there was no competition in simply using my name, I think I was the 2nd person to ever sign up to the site.I may post infrequently these days, but at least you'll know who I am. Sometimes over the years I have wished I had been more adventurous, but Liam it is (I did have a pseudonym of the Chick Magnet for a while a few years back as well, but that's another story). Liam

My handle is my initials then g0, which means nothing. jjmg0 was a user ID given to me for email at a job I had about 8 years ago. I started using it whenever I signed on as a password, then I accidently used it when I signed onto this site.

I was a skater (inline) before I became a runner. Now I run way more than I skate, but I still love to get out on the trail when I get the chance. It makes me feel young and fast...and tall.Susan

Immensely enjoyed reading handle origins! I have many many friends who go by handles. Their rules seem to be that the handle must be bestowed upon you as a result of an annoying habit, an embarrassing situation, or a physical characteristic. You cannot choose your own. The public usage of said handle is directly proportional to how much you despise it.Mine is short for - poco loco blanco mono (little crazy white monkey). Mary

I'm a relatively new runner (running for approximately one year now).Since I started running at the age of 44, I've had some ups and downs along the way (I can BLAME it on my age... right?). Anyway, I really, REALLY want to improve my times and maintain a regular running schedule. Hence my name: JANIE B GOOD! (aka: get your ass out of bed and RUN...)

I am a chemist by training, thus the 'Lab' part. I am also a diehard University of Oregon fan, so that's where the 'Duck' part comes from. Fairly "elemental" Econo - who do you root for when U of O plays against UW? Just curious since I too am a "mixed breed": my dad, grandmother, and great grandfather where Ducks, while my mom and grandfather were Huskies. BTW, I have an extreme dislike for orange!

I like the Vols...their orange isn't the "safety" orange worn by the Barkrats from Oregon Agriculture College, aka Oregon State University. OAC's orange is the same color of the vests worn by the road litter pickup crews on day-release from the local jail...

I guess I better update my response here.I used to be "irunslowly" I used that handle because I thought I was only registering to get a running log. I had no idea what a forum was and never imagined myself here. Then I stumbled upon these places and, well, couldn't keep my mouth shut... figuratively speaking. SO, there was this guy around here who told me (not in these exact words) that I was too idealistic and that I should be more patriotic (read this however you want). I had been thinking about changing my name but nothing sounded right. After reading his post, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I see life from behind rose colored glasses. Thus, the handle. Although they are a little askew right now. And maybe I'll have to change my name again. For now it stays. ~ Rosecg ------------------ Want to help her? Munch-in-Training

I am a fairly new runner. I am new to this forum and from the posts I read so far, I'll like it here... My handle comes from my name, first two letters of each. Makes for a simple but catchy name and I have been using it in e-mail addresses for years. Julia[This message has been edited by jura (edited Aug-18-2006).]

Browndog shortened to brndog because the other was taken long ago when signing up for e-mail.For some reason a shop class teacher in high school started calling me that. It was picked up by my friends. He was a "respected" teacher as he let us have a smoke break with him in the arc-welding booth. A definite no no. I had a tendency toward rule breaking which let my younger brother coming up the ranks to be asked "your're not Mike Brown's brother, are you!". I am 53 with daughters 8 and 12. A couple degrees in business and still running a manufacturing company in electronics I co-founded some 25 years ago.
