I'm living at the Campus Fort St-Jean. I've been running on the trail along the canal most of the time so far. quote: Originally posted by dragonsrouges: I can hook you up with a bunch of people your speed who train on MR or in the plateau area... Those guys sound like they're probably a touch fast for me yet, but thanks. I run normally either at 5:00 in the morning, 3:30 pm or about 6:30-7 pm on weekdays. I head back to NB a lot of weekends, my wife is still there. quote: Originally posted by Truxx: Welcome Viich. I am in the South SHore, and enjoy finding new places to run also. Between here and St.Jean there must be quite a few nice places. I like St.Bruno because it is close to me, but I am looking forward to finding more places. I guess the weekends are going to be the best time.. We can plan something and keep the running time around an hour or so... As for events.. I am going to do a couple in the 10k range, however I still haven't registered for any... Hopefully at least one trail race sometime soon... Truxx

Mercury, that's awsome. I ran only one season of cross, and unfortunately we couldn't compete with Dal. My home is in Oromocto now, (where my wife is) but I'm from Quispamsis outside of Saint John, NB. Thanks for the response. I didn't realize how fast traffic built up in this thread. ------------------ Craig Craig's Log

Merci cherie, I guess tomorrow I'll see just how ready I am. I would't dare waste a beer by de-fizzification. I did pick up Cola flavored cliff shots with caffeine.

This is more or less what the 5km runners should expect tomorrow. Please look at the elevation to give you a better idea of the course. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=945570

I didn't want to scare you Lifeany. It's not that bad. The worst part is the hill under Sherbrooke, but just before you have about 400 meters downhill. The next 1.5 km is uphill, but nothing brutal. Then you turn and its downhill all the way.The chart shows it worst than it is in reality. Grommit: about your 100miles: That's scary. I think the last 10 miles after 10 miles downhill will be something. [This message has been edited by runningag (edited May-11-2007).]

I'm sure that you can register at the Hochelaga YMCA before the race (4567 Hochelaga, close to olympic stadium, métro Pie-IX I guess).

For those who are going for the race tonight. At what metro station we are supposed to meet at 5:30? Pie IX or Viau?

I'm ALLLIIIVVVEEE, Just barley. So I survived running 6 loops of approx. 5 miles each covering some nice trails on the mountain top to bottom with grommit. Just under 6 hours. And I didn't even get a medal or T-shirt. Overall went pretty well, The climb up the mountain on the 6th loop was tiring, but gro that old fart ran the last loop as his fasted. had a bit of pain down the back of the hamstring some nice big blisters on the feet but overall I can still walk up and down stairs and there is no persisting pain. Currently carbo loading with a nice brown New Castle. Ta TA for now. Roly [This message has been edited by rolyone (edited May-12-2007).]

Thanks KZ, For someone who has been running since January I am quite impressed and think you will suprise us all in your first 10 K today. despite the fact that you should of been in taper mode last week-end. Good luck again. Roly

.... I'll second that, KZ will produce an A1 result..... as far as asphalt goes Judging from Mollasse's wonky typing he may be a little "Newcastle Browned" or maybe he got a little too much fresh air ..... Notable points from this mornings outing: Roly's blisters, Grommit's wipe-out-full-body-roll-recovery[scuffed knee/hands/shoulder ], the menu, the fabulous conditions, the look on Roly's face coming up Mont-Royal the hard way for the sixth time [priceless!], how good can a corned beef sandwich taste.... And a good time was had by all! All thoose months of trudging up & down & round & round in the snow made it feel really pretty easy..... no pain, no blister.... and maybe even fresh enough to do a bit more.... anybody fancy a couple of hours... late morning tomorrow? say at the cemetary gates at eleven? need a map.....? e-mail me Spent the rest of the afternoon with gomez ... guess where? on the mountain! walking! ... and now out for some serious supper take care Grommit
