I've been getting in some great workouts on the weekends, but this one is going to be a challenge. I'm supposed to ride 4:00 and then 3:00 on Sunday, but instead I'll be at a volleyball coaching clinic from 9:00 to 5:00 both days. I was going to do my long ride today instead, but I don't like riding in the rain. So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'll probably end up riding shorter and doing some running too.No Mississauga for me since I'll be out of town. My first race this year will be Desoto Triple T at the end of May. Four triathlons over 3 days that end up being slightly longer than iron distance. I'm scared!

Well, I'm pathetic and didn't do any workouts all weekend! The volleyball clinic took up most of my time and then I just didn't feel like doing anything after. Oh well, at least I learned a lot in the clinic. I can't wait to put it in action now!Heading out now for a 2 hr bike / 40 min run brick. Looks like a nice day for it.

I have inlaws in town and couldn't get my long run in yesterday, I did have time for 7ish miles progression so all's not lost. Wife and I are sleeping on a sofa bed in the basement which makes for bleary-eyed mornings. Nice to have the weather on our side.

Hey Dawn, don't be so hard on yourself - sounds like you had a very full plate over the weekend! I hate sofa beds Jim - hope the in-laws aren't staying toooo lomg!Ran 20.5k yesterday, didn't feel great, I was tired, I've had three runs of 19 to 20 k over the last four weeks and this felt the worst. Oh, well, we'll see what happens on the 13th - can't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day- up racing at 7:30 am.............so much for breakfast in bed. It will make me feel better for the next day - my BD and the last one before the BIG one in 2008. Weather has been great! Patti

Got a good 2:10 run in today in Taylor Creek/Edwards Gardens/Sunnybrook. The last 3 miles were tough, but they always are. Beautiful day for a run!

Hey Gang,Fitchic, Minime and I are at the grand opening of the Nike Runner's Lounge on Yonge at Summerhill. Just got back from a 5K run and are scarfing down some waffles, fruit and granola. Nice digs. They have a snacks and hydration bar and massage table going. It's a showcase store for runners to hang out, check out new gear, i.e. the Nike+ system, try new shoes, and go for a run. We need to get together with the entire Ontario gang to check it out in the near future. Whose in? Eddie

I'd love to get together with everyone. The only problem is that my weekends are getting heavy with my riding. I'll do my best to make it, though.

Saturday afternoon...taper Sunday ...race day...hoping to break 2:30 unless we stop for lunch at 16 KM...Sunset Grill, right beside Running Room...then we're hoping to break 3 hours. I think I should run one of those shorter half-marathons.

He read that for marathon training, you need to run 70 miles a week. So right now he's half-way across Alberta pah-dum...pah!. I'll be there. I sign-ed myself up yesterday for the arf-a-marathon. I need to run it and get home before anyone knows I'm gone.

Hi Gang,Best O Luck to everyone running the Mississauga race. I will be working the Running Room booth Friday and Saturday, so drop by and say hi. Looks like everyone busy racing or training. I'll be running the Halifax Marathon next weekend, then I'm working the expo at the Ottawa Marathon the following weekend. So it looks like our meet date at the Nike Runner's Lounge will take place in June. Precise date and time TBA. Eddie

I hope that includes me, even though what I plan to do may not actually fall under the classification of "running". Good luck everyone...for those half and full runners who don't beat my time Sunday...well I hope your injury isn't too serious.

I predict rain and cold in Halifax (I think I know why it's called the Bluenose marathon, and it ain't because of some boat). I'll find you at the expo in mississauga.Craig, thanks for the wishes. We'll see how it goes, weather looks perfect for Sunday. aurang, do you have a way out to Mississauga race morning? I can always do a pickup on the way out. Hey Jim, thanks a lot, but I do have a ride. I really appreciate the offer. See you at the line. All the best.Eddie, I saw you today, but you were busy. I can only spend so much time in an expo. Hope you didn't have too long of a day. [This message has been edited by aurang (edited May-11-2007).]

Last year was the first year in the 4-5(?) year history of the race that the Bluenose had decent weather. Otherwise it has alway been rainy and windy. Two years ago it was like Boston this year and they had to cut out the run across the bridge to Dartmouth and avoid the flooded dock areas of Halifax.Long days at the expo for me I'm afraid. Yesterday I got to the site to set up the booth at 8:30am, but the booth stuff didn't get delivered by the truck company till noon, so we worked putting the huge booth components together till 7pm. Worked today from 8am till 8pm. Tomorrow is 7am to 8pm. On the good side, Reebok is sponsoring the race and gave us free shoes.

I'm back. I didn't see any of you guys at the start, nor at the finish. I think I glimpsed jc heading towards the finish line. Were you in black, jc? I stayed long enough to watch the lead marathon runner come through (Pregrag Mledanovic) and then had to leave.Crowds were thick. A mess approaching Hurontario off the 403. I learned the first year to bypass all that and go to Mavis, you just drive right up and park. I did 1:33 and a few seconds, faster than I thought I was going to do, something like 141st spot and 22 a/g. I felt really good throughout but didn't want to push too hard (this wasn't a goal race), I ran the last 1.1 in 4:33.

Hi EveryoneI looked for familar faces, but didn't see any of you guys either. I said I'd be happy at 1:55 well, I was 1:55:59 and I round down so I'm happy, since my training didn't go quite as well as planned. 44th out of 328 seasoned women like me! Good run Jim, no wonder I didn't see you! Anyone know how aurang and JC made out? Takes for the mommy day wishes, HPG. Patti

Good thinking, Jim. To think that I've lived in Mississauga on and off for 15 years and didn't think of that. Good race, too.I ran 3:10. I was trying to get under 3 hours and did go through the half in 1:31 and hit 30k in 2:09 feeling good, but the rolling hills at the end got me. I completely forgot about them, which is dumb since I've run that stretch of Lakeshore two times before. The last 12k took an hour, the last 7k about 38 minutes, which was pretty humiliating.
