Happy Apirl Fool's - hope the forecast snow for later this week is an April Fool's joke!Good week of running - 8k on Wednesday, 10K Thursday, including 6 X 800 intervals at 3:52, 11K yesterday and 20 today. So much less pressure with a 1/2 - at least until Coach gave me my revised 6 week plan and his expectation that I can run at @5:15 k pace..........for a 1:50 1/2. I think he is dreaming - I'll be happy at 1:55. Happy running everyone. Patti

It's going to be snowy and -3 or so for the Spring Run-Off. I can't say I'm surprised. Last year, the temperature mysteriously dipped to -5 or so. The year before, it was one degree with pouring rain.

G'day.I have been hanging out in Atlanta. It's too hilly for me, but I have been getting some really slow training in. I need to get to San fran where it's a lot flatter.

Hey folks,Everyone ready for the April snow showers! Well I met with the Dr. yesterday to go over my knee MRI report. It appears I moved some during the scan but still the results (abridged) are not pretty: - radial tear of the medial meniscus - evidence of high-grade partial tearing of the medial collateral ligament - scar tissue and build-up indicating a prior low-grade sprain - significant cartilage loss - severe chondrosis at the inferior articular cartilage - moderate amount of fluid build-up - some thickening of the IT band The Dr. was reasonably optimistic about being able to repair everything. I have an appointment with a surgeon next week to discuss options and alternatives. I very much hope to be able to run again sometime soon but meanwhile the elliptical is my new best friend. Good luck to those running the Spring Run-Off this weekend. Cheers, Craig

Everyone still alive??It was nuts at Running Room today...we did about 2 weeks worth of sales. Guess it was that warm spring weather. I guess I should be watching the hockey game. Leafs were leading 3-1 last I checked. I figure 6-3 Montreal will be about right. Much ado about not much with the fight for the possible right to be demolished in the playoffs.

We're still trying to recover from the Easter weekend, so things are going slowly in our household today. We were up until after 3:00 am for church on Saturday night. Gotta love those Greek Orthodox all-night services! I'm off to California on Thursday for a triathlon training camp with a bunch of women I met on the internet. It's funny telling my kids where I'm going when I'm always telling them not to trust anyone you meet on the internet. Double-standard, indeed!

Well, all my buddies going to Boston are telling me I'm lucky I didn't qualify this year - looks like a big nasty Nor'easter may make Monday's run a bit more challenging. Hope that means next year will be nice Track work tonight - although it will be a small group, as quite a few are off to Boston. Hoping spring shows up soon! Patti

Hi all! I'm just back from a weekend of training in California with some cool tri-chicks. We trained hard during the day and partied hard all night!! It was great fun. I got in over 9 hours of riding and 2 hours of running in 3 days. The toughest ride was Saturday. Four hour ride in sustained 25 mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph!! Epic!Back to reality now. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I've been told the spring weather is going to show up any day now.

That sounds horrible. Next time, I'll go in your place and save you the stress. Ran through the park system then through town down to Front and University yesterday, then back. It was a lot easier heading down with the wind at my back, the return trip wasn't quite as much fun. Not too many out there. Taylor Creek was jammed with the Walk for MS folks, I think everyone else was running races somewhere, or in Boston. Today's a good day for a day off.

Hi Patti,Yes, too bad about the Windy City. Niagara pretty flat, but it seems always have a head wind on the Niagara Parkway. Detroit is OK too except the Ambassador Bridge. The Peace Bridge in Fort Erie isn't as bad. Hope training for Mississauga Half is going well.

Steamtown, Wilkes-Barre PA...usually the same day as Chicago. Heard good things about it...especially that it's downhill

The Toronto Marathon (old CIM) has changed it's course. It no longer goes northward first, it comes down Yonge and along Queen's Quay and makes it's way over to High Park and back. So 1/3 downhill, the rest flat...'cept for that little elongated rise along University.edit: it still makes it's way along Rosedale Valley Rd, so that long drop is still there. I saw that change today as well. The new course looks better than before. Anything is better than that first 10k they used to have into no-man's land.Loving the weather!! I did a 1:50 run today and I have big rides scheduled for the weekend. No more indoor trainer!!!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It will likely be Scotia but what about Marine Corps (I here there is a good shortcut - JUST KIDDING!), or Columbus, Ohio, or Philidelpia?Love the weather!!!! Looking forward to my long run! Patti

I have run Philadelphia and I really like it...and you get to run the Rocky Steps at the art the museum after you are done....of course you have to sing "Gonna Fly Now" as you do it. Marine Corps is a lottery entry Columbus used to be a fave for people from around here, but not so much anymore it seems. Knowing the topography of Columbus I'm sure it's about as hilly as Scotiabank.

Hey all! We were slipping down the page, so I thought I'd check in to see how everyone's doing. About to head out for a ride/run brick. Looks like the weather has cleared up nicely for it.

Just fine out this way. Weekend was great, got a good tempo run in on Saturday and a long run out the spit on Sunday. It's nice just to have that vicious cold air behind us for another season.

Heading off to Tennessee for some hill training.Managed to get a couple of long (but pathetically slow) runs in on Friday and Today...13 and 11 miles....actually had to walk a bit in the 13 miler...think I was going so slowly that I hurt myself. I now feel confident I can finish the Mississauga Half well before nightfall...possibly before lunch...it starts at 7:30.
