Gro 'ol boy. I must have missed you. Ran from my place in Lachine up & around the Cross at the summit. Took an hour and six minutes, arriving at 1:00pm. Got back to Lachine at 2:12pm. Bit cold on the hands on the way back, otherwise uneventful. Lots of runners but none that I recognized. Too bad.

Roly. Glad you had fun. They are a great gang. Like you, I find it a bit far and since the weekend is one of the times I actually manage to get some sleep, I prefer to stay closer to home. Besides, medication routines nessessitate that I be close to home for an hour to 11/2 hours before daring to leave the house. (don't ask, you don't want to know....)

Happy New Year early everyone!

Ile Bizzard is a nice place to run, but my training will have to be on Mount-Royal trails on the week-ends I'm itching to start again and can't wait for the spring. I'm already dreaming of running on Mont St-Hilaire again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE MONTREAL COOL RUNNERS. Hope you all meet your PB's for the year.

Shame on you if you haven’t been out in this fabulous weather this morning…jeez, sound like someone else on here. Mercury is the only one with a hall pass Apparently won't be this nice later nor tomorrow.

You know it’s a good run when you leave the house on “Dirty deeds done dirt cheap” and skid into the local supermarket an hour later howling along to the Stones, red cheeks, drippy nose, toque askew..got to love it.

Happy new year to you all, got to stretch and shower.

Just came back from my last run this year. Unfortunately, the weather is not as nice as it is in good ole MTL. However, it was dry and not at all cold (maybe 7 C). While I was running, twilight was c oming along and everything was turning blue. I love to run at this time of the day. Did something around 5km at an easy speed to draw a line under this year.

I wish everybody a nice evening and a good beginning of the next year.
Happy running

An hour on the Mountain trail this morning with another trail loving Montreal cool runner (Geuss who). I love those trails but need work on the slippery snowy uphill trail running thing whew, lots of work.
Best thing about running on Mount Royal is the quick stop on the way home at Fairmount for two dozon bagels and cream cheese.. Oops gotta work on that weight loss, next year.
Well fat, happy, healthy and running again it's gonna be a good start to the new year,

Happy New Year to everyone.

Beautiful day this morning. Ran for an hour an a half with PS. It was made easier with the Gel Arctic that I wore for the first time today.

Have a great day everyone.

..... so, wishing you all a healthy, injury-free, happy, prosperous 2007 full to the brim with love......

Did a great run this morning under the sunshine, doing my Cap Tourmente loop. No, I haven't seen any animals, but I was thinking about this coming season. It looks like I'll do Ottawa another time. I like this marathon. I might run also the half marathon on Paris on March 11, have a friend who got an appartment for a couple of months there. So, why not? Maybe a fall marathon or a trail run at the end of the summer. And for next fall and winter.... stay tuned.

Before I go, I want to wish you all a great new year, injury free, at least one personal best and finishing all your races with that feeling that makes you say : "Wow! I felt so great!"

Likewise, except I hope you feel lousy but run well...

As LG would say: "I don't want to hear about how great you felt during the race... leave it all on the track/road..."

Happy New year to everyone... Wishing you all some great running and some nice cross-training to stay healthy... And lots of meat on your BBQ...

Starting a new job next week, unfortuately not anywhere near downtown so won't be bumping into the regular suspects as often anymore at the gym...

Bonne Année!

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year to all of you! I hope we all have a great year here\!

I made it out running again yesterday, and my time was close to the last time.. I'm still hanging on to staying in shape. I am hoping to increase my training this year, and it shouldn't be that hard of a goal, considering what I have to work with.. Wish me luck!

Short hoof around the hood, 40 min, followed by some core exercises. Was overdressed for my run and the streets were nice and dry. I saw someone on a bike and someone else wearing a hooded sweatshirt playing with a remote control something in the street and alot of people walking, more like strolling … what is wrong with this picture ? Its JANUARY !

Anyone else running today ?

Easy 5 miler last night.
Still not sure what races I will run this year, seeing that the Jay Marathon will no longer be at Jay or if it will even be available this year until they find a new location.
Still there is the Hypothermic half in February which I must admit I'm not to motivated for right now but I'll keep training and build up the milage until I decided on my plans for 2007.

I made it out yesterday for a run to the river! The pedometer site says it is about 6.6 miles.. It was much warmer than the day before, and I gess I was overdressed also. It looks nice again today. We will see what new route I can find since I finally made it to the river, there are a lot of possibilities from there.

Good morning and happy new year everyone.

Back to life, back to reality!

Went on the Mont-Royal all week. This morning was especially slippery, kind of dangerous even. But it did'nt stop me, no sir! It just took a lot longer to finish.

Truxx, keep up the good work! The Iles-Bizard race is coming very soon and I expect you to perform.

Ran this morning before work. I overdressed and it was uncomfortable. DF, I agree, wild weather we are having. Not that I'm complaining mind you.

KJ, you are definitely courageous to run Mont Royal. Running up hill was a "zig-zag" affair for me but descending via the snake was an exercise in survival for me.

With any luck, this mild weather will continue making winter running that much easier,

A little speed work (for the slug) with the MAA group this evening, we had a great view of the full moon. So hungry when I got home, inhaled a huge mess of pasta.

Hey there Truxx, when you get that far, hang a left and start towards my place...along the canal, under the JC bridge...its cold there, wind right off the water..but I like the views of the harbour and city skyline. At the moment with the lack of snow I imagine its still open. Who knows this area is Omni. He once gave me the distance along the canal but its been archived.

Ninja – I don’t want to hear you complainin’ when the polar bears have no place to go and start living in your backyard and decide you’d make a good meal...

Salut Knee – we’ll have to call you ExtremeKnee – teehee..braver then da fly.

FRIDAY TOMORROW - HURRAY !!!

Believe it or not.. I made it out again today!! I can't remember running 3 days in a row.. maybe once last year before whiteface.. I doubt it though. I already started taking some time off that loop from here to the park and around to get back.
Df7 thanks for the suggestion. I am pretty far from the bridge when I hit the river.. but I might start going left, and seeing how far I can make it. It is not my style to run that kind of distance, but I think some endurance training will help me so I don't get tired so early during races.
KJ.. It is good to hear from you.. I am glad you are having fun regularly on the Mountain!

So, what is the plan for the weekend ROlyone, and whoever else likesto run on the mountain.. If it is that icy I think I would rather try somewhere else..how about with Phoenix group again? but maybe the ice is just about gone, as it is here! Let me know and I will check in again tomorrow.

Back from french Loire countryside. Got sick like a miserable dog the moment I landed. Euro winter is freakin cold when its pissing rain. Ate like a pig, the real way (rillettes du Mans, foie gras, boudin, saucissons). Even had a rare nicotine urge. Saw lot of action (Ekiden, Corrida) but did zippo. Over 2 weeks without running makes Chops a bad runner. Local scene is pretty fast (out of 640 10k runners, over 50% under 45:00). What else ?

Hi boys. Anyone want to run with Phoenix demain matin? Forget the canal.....boooooring......It will actually be my first long run with them EVER, even when they were Boreal! I always did my long runs in the lower Laurentians.

Actually, just got back from St. Lin. Did two nice runs in the last two days there. Today, 8 miles @ 165 bpm with 8 hills of 45 secs.-1 min.each along the way. Two days before, I ran 10 miles in 75 minutes, from my house on the border of St. Lin / St. Sophie to & through the village of New Glasgow and back. Nice rolling hills with loads of farms along the way......I love it. It gave me a chance to figure out how to work my Garmin that I bought in NYC.

Truxx. My knees are shaking. Three days in a row. How will I ever keep up with you, again? Hope you choose Ile Bizard Roly. Will be great to run with you again. How 'bout Gro? Wanna come?

Ile Blizard it is then! That will be fun.. I ran with Phoenix my first time on a Saturday, when they decided to run Mt. St. Bruno.. That was a real work out with quite a few hills.. I will check the site to find out how to get there tomorrow, but that sounds like a great plan.

I even ran once again this evening, and took off another 8 seconds from my normal loop.. I am at 30:07, and I am starting to believe I might make it under 30 sooner than I planned!.. These last few seconds are the tough ones.. Having to push yourself along the dark streches when noone is around, and you start to fade.. Just keep on pushing!!

Truxx

Welcome back Mr.Lambchops!! You Jet-setter! You will be back in shape in no time.. I know you!
