Easygo are you still planning a run in the woods near Lorraine, hilly sand dunes? When and what time.

May 6 or May 13,, I am planning a test 50k run at Mont St-Hilaire ( fatass type run) 6 loops of the rocky trail. Your all invited to join in on a loop or 2, Gro you can join in for all 6 loops. The loop starts near a picknik area so maybe we can have a Montreal coolrunning outing with food involved.

I hate this time of the year. Starting next year, I'm leaving for a month between March 15 and April 15. I ran on a threadmill today, 'cause running on the sidewalks was too dangerous.

Can I commiserate with Gro? It was freezing out there. Very bitter northwesterly. Ran from the NDGY to a loop around the cross on the mountain in 57 minutes. Nice going up, very cold returning. Amazingly low heart rate, for me, going up hill. (MHR 163). Finally something encouraging.......

Yesterday was a TM "tempo" of 25 minutes at 9.7 mph ( 6:11 / mile pace ) Tough but useful for the 10K. Short & sweet yet painful enough that you worked out. Beats 4 hours on the hills (Roly & Gro). No offence boys!

I ran early this morning, and it wasn't as bad! I wanted to get in another snow trail run in case it all melted today while I was at work... Or in case this weekend I don't make it to the mountain or any trails.. So I got to the park and I ran along side of the trail, because the snow that had been walked on was iced over, and really difficult to run in.. The snow along the sides was nice and crunchy, and it was a real work-out.. I know it added a couple minutes to my time. Anyways it was fun to run thought the snow!

I will try and check back in, and see what the plan is for Sunday morning.. Did you say real early Rolyone?? WHere?.. I want to see how the conditions are tomorrow, and play it by ear still.

O.K.. Have fun training.. and for tohose that are racing... Good Luck!!

Truxx not sure yet what the plan for Sunday is yet, I'll have to see how the old body feels after todays 4-5 hour training goes. I would have to go early because of guest coming over for Lunch, I have to help out.

Merc, 4 hours on trails is much better than racing on pavement. Well easier on the body. But I may want to attempt another marathon in late fall.

Hi everybody !
Still running but no writing.
Last night, we rented the James Bond movie Casino Royal... what about that free running or ''parcours'' in the beginning... major Fartlek workout.
Back to running, I can see that everybody is still doing it.

Tb, if it's not to late, good luck for Paris. Enjoy the croissants and don't think about tour time, you're in Paris.

Sally, the worst thing is getting back into the running routine. A new objectif... like getting a new t-shirt could help...kidding. There is a couple of small race and not so small race in the spring, pick one.

Roly, marathon... late fall... Mount Desert Island marathon is on october 14. It's in Maine. Voted a couple of times as the most scenic marathon.
http://www.mdimarathon.org/
Might do it.

Truxx, Roly, anybody else, the mountain before easter dinner and the ''chocolat''. Early, let's say 7:30 or 8:00 at the latest. I know Roly, it's late fo you but It's a holyday.

By the way, next sunday april 15 is a orienteering race in Pierrefond, It,s a street orienteering event ( usually it's in the wood ). It's running but you have to find flag.
Sally it's cool what the kids !
Let me know if you want more details.

See Ya , Easygo

Easygo, I only have one condition for another Marathon if and only if I can get my weight down to 170 lbs. That's as heavy as I want to run on pavement. Currntly around 185 lbs today.

Gro and I got in a long run of 4 hrs & 50 minutes. Body held up well with some pain but I am feelling very fatigued.

Hey Gro you planted a seed during our run today, two all dress cheesburgers taste pretty good after a long run.

Truxx, I think you and easygo will be able to get in a faster run without me tomorrow. I'll try to get in an early run in if I can or try some time on the spin bike or just powerwalk at an incline.

Hello Runners! I ran a nice trail run this morning at Mt. St. Bruno.. It was 2 loops, and a nice hour and 5 minutes!! I count these as long runs... I was almost the only one there, and the snow was still nice this morning..
O.K.. for tomorrow.. I will try and get in touch with someone.. or be there probably closer to the 8:00... Let's hope. Don't wait though.. It is too cold to wait before running still.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend! Happy Easter!

I finally received and watched, "The art and science of running" on dvd. Definitely time well spent. The hour long lecture (divided by topic) was very intuitive and proved to be of great assistance in my ongoing understanding of this sport. With race day a week a way, this is what I would deem, "going back to basics" so I don't attempt to pull any last minute heroic stunts (eg. a 20 miler this week). Lemme know if anyone is interested. I can lend you my copy.

Easygo: Thank you for the kind words.

Off for my long run. Hopefully access to the J-C has been opened.

Well after a good night sleep and walking around at bit this morning the legs are feelling good no pain or tightess. Yesterdays run with Grommit was estimated at +/- 25 miles. A real boost for my confidence, I feel that now I really do have a shot at completing the Pittsfield Peaks ulta it may not be pretty but I should be able to finish.

TB I may just borrow that DVD after Gro's race in July. That's when I'll decide what I want to run next.Good luck in your upcoming race in Paris.

SS we want a report on your 8 week Ottawa training plan.

Truxx, easygo let us know how the run went today.

Hello !
Truxx and I went to the mountain this morning. Good run, about an hour and 12 minutes. We were both tired. The good things is that we discovers that both of us like disc golf, which is almost unknow around here.

We saw Tb for about... 30 seconds!

It was still winter up there.

Good rest everybody... including the Canadien.

Good work Roly. You"re ready!!!

Thought of the mountain very briefly this morning but with the wind blowing from the west, decided to run into it - direction Pointe Claire - and with it on the way back. It (the wind) was so strong on Lac St. Louis, that my quads were seizing up as if I was doing "heartbreak hill." True resistance training, only it was supposed to be an easy, marathon pace, run. Very tough & cold.

Coming back was terrific though! Did 1 hr. 20 minutes !

Nice to hear that Truxx was out there with Easy. Time for another rest Scott! See ya in three weeks!

...... a nice easy stroll with gomez on the westmount side of the hill, legs felt good just a little of that nice achey sensation from yesterday's outing.... put me down for an easy hour of x-training.... woohoo, roly's almost there, with a couple of months to spare [& avoid injuries!].....

I'll be out of town for 8 days starting tuesday.... could you please arrange for the snow to be all gone and the tempretures to be in the high sixties/low seventies when I get back

G.

Thanks to your help and advise, Training is going very well. We do this again in a couple of weeks right.

Got in a powerwalk on the TM this morning 4 miles at an 8% incline. X-training.

Truxx, Easygo and all., I will be running the mountain next week, cutting back the milage a bit so let me know if you want to join in.

DR: 5:30pm departure Tuesday evening.

Just trying to decide what to pack. Not sure of what the weather will bring

Final long run today. Pretty chilly and windy out there. The J-C was open but parts of it were covered in snow and ice. Not the easiest run but rewarding none the less. Saw Easygo and Truxx for a few moments before PS caught up with me to conclude our final long run.

Core workout tomorrow and a tempo run on Tuesday before the flight.

Gro - have a great vaca, I like you, hope the weather warms up.

Yesterdays long run, early morning in my area, windy, tough.

Today, dog paddling in the maa pool with little 'fly. We met DR who munchkin commented "has lots of muscles" and "is nice". Always fun to see a face one knows

TB - will be thinking about you, have a wonderful time, enjoy the city of lights.

Unfortunately yes. Today I did one of two 2 hour runs, I have scheduled as part of my half preparation. Weather was nice and warm (around 15 deg). Since I really wanted to fix the time and not the distance, I ran most of the time along a canal and turned around when I had just enough time left to get back in time. Google Earth just told me that I have run 18 km which makes it my longest run since the Dragon run in October 2005. My legs are toast (probably yesterday's 50 something km on the bike didn't help) but otherwise I feel great. Gimme more. Take care

Ralf
