Pic of the bike soon... !

It's not a top of the notch billion-dollar bike but it's not a bad tri bike, it's custom made for us short people, I bought it from a friend who (yes, she's short like me) used it half a dozen times (her husband is an elite cyclist) but never got into it... I got all sort of comments along the lines of "Ohhhhhh it's so cuuuuute" and " It looks like something I'd put on a keychain in case my bike breaks down" and "It looks like it's for a hobbit" (along with the crouching down and walking funny) but goddamnit, I'm 5'1" ok!

I got it for a good price because she had a hard time trying to sell it (apparently the market for tri bikes for women under 5'1" is pretty small, go figure).

I will however be still concentrating on the running and swimming to prepare for upcoming events this summer!!!

Good luck to all April racers, Boston and Paris and other local ones...

TB how's the leg?

PS: UHGGHHH I'm sick AGAIN.

Bad enough, it's still an issue. After every medium or hard workout I get a slight reaction that is usually gone after 1-2 days. However, it progresses in the sense that now with 25 - 30km / week I have about the same problems as I had with 15km - 20km / week in winter. So, as long as it doesn't get worse, I continue my training. In 4 weeks, after the half, I plan to reduce my running again for some time and work on my tibia anterioris (I don't think that it is wise to try to work on an already stressed muscle).

Congratulations, Gag and Merc. Gag, I agree completely with your opinion on little local races.

Df & Any, good look for your upcoming races. I am expecting some reports.

DR, sorry to read that you are sick again. Hope you'll get better soon.

Take care folks

Ralf

DR: I commiserate. I am still sick and it has already been two and a half miserable weeks. I am finally at the end of my antibiotics but cannot shake this fatigue. Makes training difficult. Ugh.

JB: Congrats on the spiffy new bike ... WOW! N-i-c-e .... I am envious. I've met other people who have that bike and have heard good reviews.

See you all at Hurley's tomorrow! Sorry you can't make it this time, Any, but feel free to pop in anyway and say hello, your friend is also welcome (I've brought non-running friends.) We'll probably be there until about 10pm.

Biggest Hurley's turn-out we've had for a while ... in attendance were JB, TB, KJ, Merc and his friend Don, Truxx, RG, and me. Even DR passed by during her training run to say hello. But where oh where was MLC? He "said" he was going to be there ... OH! Never trust a car salesman!!!

Great time to be had by all ... loved all the stories, especially the last one. Thanks guys!

Big idea of the evening - we all put our names into the 2008 NYC marathon lottery and depending on who gets accepted, we do some sort of theme costume and run together ... maybe even a catepillar! Who's in?

Mark this in your agenda:

NEXT HURLEY'S - TUES, APRIL 24, 7:00PM

Be there or be square No reason not to turn out, I've given lots of notice ... Please RSVP so I can hold you to it ...

Sally

Nice to see everyone!!

JB Thanks for the glass of water!! Best water service a runner can get, complete with lemon twist!

Looks like the season is about to start with a couple of people heading off out of town this month... Best of luck to all of you! Remember: no buffet dinner nor alcohol the night before!

Sally! Too much to drink last nite? April 23 is a Monday. Tuesday is the 24th.

Nice to see everyone last nite and in great spirits. An unexpected visit by DR. Hope that virus passes soon so you can breath properly.

Good luck Ninja.

First, you were looking for your running cloths, now you’re looking for your life ??

Hi there Knee, sounds like you had a fun evening – you can always count on great stories with this bunch.

After a rock&roll day at work, did a little “speed” work on the t/m, okay, slug version of speed work, not Mercury’s version . Listening to tunes at a blaring level to bury the yakking of the gal talking on her cell phone on the t/m next to me. Needless to say she wasn’t doing any speed work…just strolling, whatever.

Went to the pool afterwards to dog paddle, soak the hip , saw TB stretching and stopped to chat for a moment before heading home.

Got lots going on right now, I’m not the best company, and needed to get some SLEEP last night.

Nice bike JB – I was thinking of dragging mine out last weekend…didn’t, and now look at the darn weather..jeez…

DR , Sally, hope you feel better soon.

I know what you mean about life whizzing by. I think mine is hiding out now in Lost Cat Toy Hell.

Sorry that you couldn't come last night Df, Roly, Easygo, and MLC. We laughed about your white tights yet once again, MLC ... he he he ... but we DO love you!

Looks like you had a great evening yesterday. It's sad that I couldn't join you (nor the next time). But I am still trying to find an opportunity to come to MTL this summer.

I just read the starter information for my upcoming half marathon and found something I have to share with you. In the section about the finish area I found the following phrase: "Im Zielbereich ebenfalls auf der Rückseite der Xella-Tribüne befindet sich auch der letzte Verpflegungsstand mit Wasser, isotonischen Getränken, Cola, Apfelsaftschorle, Bananen und kostenfreiem Pils der König-Brauerei." This phrase states that the last water station is in the finish area and that you get there among other beverages free Pils-beer from the König brewerie. Roly, are you in?

I had a great time last night! It was a lot of fun to see the group again! It makes me want to run more also. It was fun hearing about the past races, and the races that are coming up. Good luck on those..

I hope to run again soon, and keep posting.

OH ya... as I was running back to the pool from Hurleys, I ran by Westmount Park and a large guy appeared from no where and pretended to charge (run) after me, I took off like a bat out of hell and he stopped and laughed/chuckled...

Never again.... Take Sherb!

Scared the **** out of me.

Thanks Coach, So what's the plan for this week-end. I have my long run set for Saturday aftyernoon. Sunday family will be over at lunch time for Easter and Britney's official B-day is Saturday. So Sunday will have to be very early couple of hours.

Easygo are you still planning a run in the woods near Lorraine, hilly sand dunes? When and what time.

May 6 or May 13,, I am planning a test 50k run at Mont St-Hilaire ( fatass type run) 6 loops of the rocky trail. Your all invited to join in on a loop or 2, Gro you can join in for all 6 loops. The loop starts near a picknik area so maybe we can have a Montreal coolrunning outing with food involved.
