ss...... well get yur fat arse out the door

jb...... a grommit suggestion: as u run this thing, at various points... make a conscious effort to take in everything that's going on around you, think about wot yur doin, etc etc....... sounds a bit cheesey but your body will be so full of mother natures finest self-manufactured mood enhancing drugs.... it really is the best ever buzzzzzz, it's why we do it and if that fails there's always beer & weed! ...... just his 0,02c

have a woofin good day

JoeB: RIGHT NOW, there is ONE thing you should be very concerned about: NOT GETTING SICK (we are surrounded by sneezing + coughing invaders).

Well I was almost starting to feel better until I read this. I think I'll need a few more days to get over that queasy feeling in my stomach.

One good thing about this damn cold forced me to rest a little longer. Legs, arse and back are feeling like a kid again. The legs were just bursting to run.

1 km warmup + 1 km cooldown with 5k in 24.30 min. Aaahhh feels good to run again.

JB good luck and enjoy popping your marathon cherry. Be gentle on Vegas.

Merc, how you feeling, are you running.

Gomez, large frenchman in white tights sic him.

LC, Truxx, anyone running with phoenix tomorrow, I might go.

Grommit, SS, DF7, TB, LC, KJ, Truxx, RG' DR , Merc who's up for a run at the Mountain 9:00 am Sunday at the Angel.

Hang in there Roly. Run backwards and cough and it will increase your speed!!

Hi all, I started back runnning. I took a time off to let my knee recover, but I've notice that when I'm running or walking it doesn't hurt. I feel a disconfert when I'm lying down, does anybody have a clue?

MLC: White leggins, now there is a reason to run a bit faster, that's ahead of you Can't wait to see them!

JB: Go have fun and enjoy yourself!

JB: the most important thing in a marathon is to have fun. Yes, fun. Enjoy everything you see. Just getting there is something, with all the training you did.

If you're not gone already, here's my two cents:

You'll start too fast, because of the excitement, the others around and the great shape you have now. But try to reduce your speed in the first two miles, if not, you'll pay later. Then, I think you can be confortable running 10% faster than your training run. Keep your pace as long as possible and don't go faster at the half marathon mark, it's too early. If you still feel comfortable to go a little faster by the 18 or 20 miles mark, then let's go. And you'll past everybody else and feel great. Enven or negative splits is the secret here.

Good luck to you and enjoy. We never forget our first marathon.

Okay, what is it this week ? I know full moon.

Merc - it sounds like you cracked something, sure hope you got some xrays and not only meds.

TB - I've never heard you sound so damn bad...you threw me for a loop last night, lots and lots of germs floating around right now.

Gomez - your owner will not be getting any xmas gift from ole honeycakes for scaring her half to death like he did today...tell him to update his blog so that everyone else knows how exciting life can get in the matter of hours.

Omni - good to hear from you again but whats with the leg - is this the first time it happens ?

Okay, somewhere in the world its five oclock, which reminds me of the best daiquiris I ever had in a place called Boomers in St Lawrence gap, Barbados...wouldn't that be lovely right about now..

Hi everyone, Thanks alot for all the supportive words. I really apprieciate them. And the advice too, Alot of it I had thought of or read somewhere, but alot of it I had never crossed my mind. I will take all of your advice - "start slow", I'm sensing this is important.

We fly out on Friday morning and arrive around lunchtime, and return Monday night. Somewhere in-between there will be a marathon to run, an expo to attend, and what happens in-between all that, I have left in the hands of our ol' faithful sheppard & sheppardess who have very generously offered tour guide services.

I will certainly be thinkning of you all as I run, and how much fun I have when I run with all of you, and how supportive you have all been.

Thanks everyone. Just a few more sleeps!!!

I think there are 5k updates available on-line somewhere - either at www.lvmarathon.com , or www.active.com

JB: It goes without saying of course. but becareful of what you eat. As a result of that horrid lunch I had last Saturday, I barely survived the Sunday run and I have been bedridden with a violent case of gastro that I have been trying to manage with great difficulty.

So much for training this week. We'll see if I can salvage something out of it.

Merc: Ow.. broken rib. what happened?

Roly: I'll try for this Sunday 9am

On a side note, I decided to register for the hypothermic 1/2 this February. It's not as hardcore as Roly's edition (it's on Ile Jean Drapeau) but should prove to be just as interesting:

Ian, You just have to out do us in everthing even fall down the stairs harder. As for breaking the rules, well close your eyes and pretend........ Heal up properly you'll still be faster than all of us in 6 weeks.

TB, Hope to see you on Sunday.

last years hypothermic was bad just because of the weather. Would of been a great run on a sunny day.

Oh my god, what's wrong with Mtl Coolrunners, stiches here, broken ribs there, gastro, painful knee, the flu, etc.

But remember, it's the end of the season. Imagine all those things happening in May.

Merc. I forgot, you're doing Boston. But if you stay put for a month, you still have 12 weeks left. You still have a chance do to it.
