Hey Sally, I was there at 11. -But mea culpa, I should've confirmed earlier with you.

The mountain was a lot of fun today, there were little babies everywhere.

.... beautiful out there today, or what! mild, not too much wind and loads of fluffy white stuff... the skiing must've been awesome this weekend. However, nothing gravity assisted for me.... another 2:20 on the mountain. Cemetery gates to the monument, back up to the top, 2 loops on the trails [deeper snow than yesterday!] and then back to the car....
Total of about 6 hours this weekend with the bonus of 2 hours on the other side of the mountain with Gomez..... may take a day off tomorrow

Took a few photos on the way today..... I'll try and find some time to stick 'em on my page....

why are weekend so short?

Sounds as though the mountain was THE place to run today. Almost joined up with the CR's but decided to run closer to home at the last minute, due to the difficulties I had yesterday.

Amazing how things can change overnite. Yesterday, I took the bus out to Pointe Claire and ran back in great discomfort, yet today, I ran from my place on 11th, out to Beaconsfield and back with little discomfort. All told, it took 2 1/2 hours. The wind going out was very strong and cold, unlike the mountain. Thanks to $store handwarmers, it was almost pleasant! Fun to watch the paragliders over the ice on the edge of Lac St. Louis. I think they were using ski's or snow boards and being pulled via parachute. I couldn't look as I had visions of one of them going off the ice into the drink. Brrrr.

GRO. What do you wear on your feet on the snow covered trails? Gaiters? How deep is the snow? Must be slow going. When I did the trails, the XC skiers were cursing at me.

.... just my sneakers! counted my tootsies when I got home and I still had all ten yesterday was colder... the snow sort of gets between the togue of the shoe and my ankle and forms a big lump.... annoying but apart from that no colder & wetter than usual....

the snow was mostly just above the ankle .... above the knee in spots

as for the x/c skiers I go to great pains to avoid thier tracks (used to do it a bit myself) even if it means running in the knee-high drifts beside the tracks... there's only about 100 yards that we share... they don't go where I do.... lots of snow-shoeing though and they just giggle ...

some pictures...

Sorry I missed you sweetheart. I heard the phone ring but couldn't get up to answer it. Worked until really late last night and got in around 3:30am, then I still had to make and eat supper ... Bedtime rolled around quickly at 6am.

My schedule these days is playing havoc to my training ... and so is the cold ... BRRR. I think I'm going to have to set up my bike and trainer in the living room to make myself cycle at least every day since the swimming is only happening about 3 or 4 x a week! UGH!

Maybe, just maybe, I will decide to do the Montreal Half, if I can get running again this week, but it's supposed to warm up a lot and get slushy ...

First I'll have to work on getting sleep on a regular basis ...

Grommit - not decathalon ... decaIronman ... So you registered for Vermont 100 officially yet? Form sent in?

Yvonne, John, and other Coolrunners might be interested ... how about a celebratory Chinese New Year supper sometime this week? Let me know which night works best for you, give me your two choices ...

Sally

Sally... Sally... the cold, the slush... bouhouhou... you're an ultrawoman, you can do anything. Just get out there and run.

Ok... I'm just feeling self-rightous because I had to really kick myself to go out in the cold for my own run, this afternoon. hehehe.

Hello everybody !
Grommit I looked at my schedule ( did look in the dictionnary for this one ), and the only night possible for me is tomorow night ( Tuesday ). So around 7:30 at le chalet du lac des castors, I'll be there. Of course, anyone interested can join in the fun. If 8:00 is more convenient let me know.

..nope, not hibernating..pulled a Garbo after work, went up the hill while it was still light...came back down at about 5:40 - can't qualify it as a run, more of a waddle/dog fix etc...it was lovely but the wind, up around the new rink - YIKES !! Came back to the MAA, went to the pool for some lazy laps...

Friday tomorrow - and bonus, apparently decent weather for the weekend.

Chops ? whodat ? DR - hope you're feeling better.

JB - how is Titus doing ?

So, who's coming? So far, we are 3 adults (me, TB, and Killerchops) and 3 children, which makes six. Mercury, you still coming? KJ? Anyone else feel like coming? Let me know by 5pm so I can make sure to get us a big enough table.

Sally
