When you rest, stare at the clock like you're on your rest interval! Unless you want to chat, that's a different story! keep up the swimming, it's good for you!

Hey Sally, ever go to Patro le prevost pool? It's right next to work and I go on my lunch hour sometimes.... 4$ a pop but well worth the fix...

Guess what, Asics is sponsoring the Montreal half this year (April) so no more Nike! YAY! wonder if there will be maple syrup this year to go with the waffles...

"First of all, Asics has become a new major partner and the presenting sponsor of the event for 2007, 2008 and 2009; and this Spring, all registrants in the half-marathon will receive a Asics microfiber shirt with "Hydrology" technology-- a super shirt to keep us running all year long!"

Incentive to run it this year...

Yep. I'm already in for that race, same thing for the NCM, but I'm still waiting for my confirmation.

Did my long run yesterday, the wind was something. At least it was not too cold. And I'm getting used to the gym. I've taken a month pass and I went there 3 times last week and I might go back tomorrow, 'cause at -25, I find it too cold to run or take the slopes.

Hope you had a great run this morning.

sun 11 feb is the start of the 11 race Montreal circuit in
Ile - Bizard with a 2k - 5k & 10k and this year for the 1st
time there will be 5 year age groups like most states in the
U S A. to sign up early is fairly cheap.

Welcome on board Any, good luck with your program.

I ran indoors this morning, early 7+ t/m miles. Hip complained a bit at the end, will try to see fizzio this week. I set it at random, took all of 60 min...didn't want to push my luck.

Now to prep munchkin's 12th birthday supper..balloons, cake, card, gift, guests..I think I got it all

The weather isn't bad now since lunch time, hope you get out, as Gag pointed out - very cold again tomorrow.

BTW - thanks for the tip DR, staring at the clock, will do.

Hurt me hell I think your trying to kill me

Warning should I go missing during a trail run with Grommit please call the local Authorities.

Wow what a finish to a tough week, 41 ish miles total. one tempo, 1 easy 5 miler one i don't know what to call it 7 miler. + 3 hours on snow covered trails and one hour on the mountain with the company of KJ.

The nerve running down the back of the hamstrings are a bit inflammed and tight running uphill. A little rest and stretching should help.

Thanks KJ and Gro for a great run today.

Roly

I've joined the chic gym of Hôtel Val des Neiges close to mont-Ste-Anne. Only two threadmills with a 30 minutes limit if someone is waiting for you. So far I was lucky.

As I spend most of my winters and summers in the countryside now, I don't think I'll join the club this year. You can consider me as a free agent.

Wow. It's brutal out there. TM day for sure. AM at my school. Easy 5 miles at 7.5mph. PM at the YMCA. Tempo, 25 minutes at 9.3mph. MHR @ 170-72. Not bad. Felt great. Rounding into "game shape" after a lack luster December / January. There may be light at the end of the tunnel after all.

I didn't mean to run, honest, I had planned on rowing or biking, doing weights core.... but I couldn't resist a 4 mile easy run... 29:01 which I guess is about 7:15 pace. Legs felt pretty fresh.... considering. then 20 mins rowing and then all the other stuff with way too long in the steam bath afterwards... as always......Starting to feel good about this again.. "light at the end of the tunnel" and all that. Off to TO for the day tomorrow...... yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

hey roly how's the day[s] rest working out?

Swimming, all I've basically been doing these days. Don't have a TM I can run on, and Mr. SB hasn't been too enticing ...

Where do you work? E-mail me off the board - let's make a swim date ...

DF: Happy Birthday to Munchkin ... when's the official date?

A big Happy Birthday to you Daughter Line. A little late.

Don't get me started on how fast time is going by, my oldest will be out of junior high next year and enter the world of Senior high.

5% over average 1st time.... then I lost 4% on the second attempt.... I should never second guess myself

chilly out there tonight.... ran briskly round the block..... love that feeling as you turn a corner and the cold hits you smack in the cod-piece ....... I'm considering starting an haute-couture line of thermal "cod-pieces" for the fashion conscious, sensitive boys amongst us..... what d'ya think Merc? is there a market?

g.......

Gro....it would take a live-warm cod to keep me warm these days. The race on Sunday will be in jeopardy if something doesn't change.....and soon. Don't want to blow out my lungs and yet.........

Another day on the TM. Another Tempo run of 25 minutes at 85% maximum heart rate. Translation, 9.6 mph with MHR at 172 after 25 minutes. HATE the TM, but it's better than the alternatives.

Gro. Doin' Boston?

Do they come in a "big mouth bass" size

Only 4 miles run for me today, feels like I have a bug, headache, nerves are all freakin out (that could just be work) dizzness, and chills. hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Nice long week end for me day off tomorrow and was off today.

Mercury - are you racing tomorrow ? If so, good luck, let us know how you do.

Good luck to all runners going to Ile Bizard tomorrow.
