Hi folks. Going to be in Las Vegas for a business trip, staying on the strip (Mirage) for a couple days this week. Would like to get out for a run or two (about 5 miles or so) but am not sure where to go that's reasonably safe. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Las Vegas Running Team organizes an open to everyone 5-miler every Wednesday evening. The meeting point is the Nike store at the Forum Shops (Caesars Palace) at 6 pm.

The Strip between 6 & 7 AM is usually pretty quiet and fun to do.

Are you renting a car? If so, you have many more options...

Not renting a car, actually, so anything in the vicinity of the strip is probably best. Not sure if I could make it over to Caesars by 6pm (meetings will run late) but will try! Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link! Red Rock is probably out of the picture this time around, but guess I'll get out of bed a bit early and do an am run.

Was just out in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a pain to run there. If you can get out early enough, the strip is OK. Otherwise, heading south out of town is a decent option. The other possibility I explored on this trip was running east or west. It's far from beautiful, but the roads lend themselves to running better than does the congested strip.
