Felt good to push myself yesterday, I felt it not in the legs but in my breathing (huffing and puffing a lot) Which proves that I need to be pushed once in a while. Thank again for the run yesteday. Roly

Hi KJ,Yeah, I'll be running it. I think Omni will as well. Anyone else? Dunno what your pace will be. Perhaps we can help each other out. If memory serves me right, we were pretty close in time in the last event we ran together. Regards, TB

Hello all, Sounds like (some of) you had fun this weekend blasting hills around the city. On Saturday morning I finally got my butt out there! My friend Pam was in (some of you have met her), and her marathon plan called for a very slow (for her) long run of 2.5 hours. She went out for a 30 min out and 30 min back, picked me up then we continued on for another 45 min. out and back. So my first run in about month was a fresh kick in the teeth 90 min. 14.25K re-introduction to my quads and calves. Slow I know, but I was out there.Anyway, I don't think that I will be doing the Nike thing, but I might try to make the Westmount Y thing. We'll see. Does anyone know of any 400m tracks around Lasalle/Verdun/ near Jolicoeur metro? I am looking at ginving some track workouts a bit of a try. I am thinking about trying a plan that I saw in RW that was based around a 3-day-a-week plan, with cross trainging (ie; commuting by bike, and Hockey thoughout the summer). Anyway, if anyone has any info... Thanks, Talk soon. "The future, according to some scientists, will be exactly like the past, only far more expensive." - John Sladek

Yeah, I share the sentiment. My quads are sore today but my hips aren't sore like after last Thurs. hill run or maybe it's that my quads are so sore, I'm not noticing. Anyway, congrats JB for getting out there. Yay!! And a big hello to Pam. Which marathon is she planning? Alright folks, I've registered and been confirmed for NYC, even got some cheap lodging at the West Side YMCA. Let's hope plans go as hoped this year and I'll actually get to be able to go. Maybe if I'm lucky, I will also get advanced placement like I did last year for being deemed one of the "fastest" 9000 women. Yeah, right ... Hey, should I run the Nike Half? Now that I know I can whip out an 18k hill run out of my back pocket ... what do you think, Truxx? LOL!!!! .....Not. Well, maybe ... yeah, maybe I should keep you all guessing ... I don't know. I don't know anything anymore ... I just want my health and strength back!!! Alright, back to the slog of the day ... Sally

Hey Mars, thanks for the kind words. Sutures are acting up so have taken two days off. Return to Gen'l Wed. so figure out what all the swelling is about! Don't tell them about my earlier posts.JB. There used to be a handy cinder/stone track (440 yards) at Neuman Park circa the 60's & 70's. Right beside the Purina Dog Food on Neuman St.-the very end bordering Ville Emard. There used to be a cool artificial hill for hill repeats. Used to practice there when I went to Verdun H.S. in the last century. Next closest is in Lasalle where they did the Lasalle Road race, on Raymond & George, behind the high school. Its surface is Royalex. A bit hard, so don't do too many repeats. Next closest is Westmount HS. Loose cinders-or no cinders by now. Also 440 yds. Best in the region is the borough of St. Laurent on Timiens ave. Tartan. Definately worth the drive. ___________________________________ Follow the Wind!

Merc, Nice talking to you on the phone tonight. Sorry I'll have to change going for a coffee in NDG to Monday night next week instead of this Friday if your available. My wife reminded me that it's my youngest daughters birthday party this Saturday and if I want to run my B2B long runs this week-end I'll have to do my shopping on Friday night. That being said I'll have to run my mudddy trail run early Saturday morning (I'm praying for rain this Friday) Your all invited to join me. Tonight 6k 29:12 4:52 min/k ave. pace. (heart rate 170-175) Good night Roly

Hi TB, I dont know what my pace will be either... probably like last year or a bit slower because I'm less trained. Yeah, we did run it together last year without knowing it. Let's keep in touch and see how it goes. JB, I'm glad you're doing this again. I hope we can do the Mount-Royal soon together. KJ

Happy birthday to Chopinette Df you're a tough one… I called in sick and stayed in bed all day yesterday so I avoided this cold yucky day alltogether… I wonder if this exhaustion was caused by my 22k on Saturday. It was a bit of a sudden increase in mileage for me… anyways, I was back at it this morning with the regular 7k in parc Jarry. KJ

Salut Genou – moi, tough ? Jamais de la vie, c’est Sally qui est tough, notre Iron Woman in the making. I’ll go out in basically any kind of weather and I remember a Thursday night hill run with you, Chops and Mars where we could have used a boat there was so much rain coming down. Remember the gent parking the car ? He thought we were courageous…yep, that’s us. Good luck with the Nike ½ , hope you write us a “report”.Et, ma chérie, je ne suis pas cute,je ne suis qu'une vieille chaussette...relax Sally, just checking to see if you're with us this evening. So, Chops, la Chopinette running circles around you yet ? Grommit -- you around these days ? Okay, gotta go, a school project on puffins calling out to me...
