Oh, I'm jealous ... still no running for me for an indefinite while ...

And no running for Mercury either ... bad news folks, we have a runner down ... I'll need you all to sign a get-well card for him at Hurley's tomorrow because I'm going to bring it to him at the hospital.

Hey Mercury I hope you recover quick. My best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I hope you didn't go thru all this just to get out of meeting some of us at Hurley's.

8.2 k last night with 5 hill repeats up and down my 1/4 k hill. ckecked the% grade on Mr. garmin and it read between 8-12%. Average it at 10%.

I'll get back to work now.

More news from the med-tent: The medcine who made the scintigraphy changed his mind overnight. In his report to my orthopedist he sais that a stress fracture is more probable. The orthopedist grounded me for two more month and he is going to check whether I will get an MRT (aka MRI or NMR).

Anybody visiting Merc. Please pass my greetings and best wishes to him.Take care

Ouch! Two more months ... well, let's hope they can finally get the right sort of diagnosis/treatment finally going. Have you thought about aquajogging? Not as exciting, but no weight on your joints ...

Will pass on your get-well wishes ...

And I wish you a speedy recovery too - we'll need you to do hills with us upon your next visit to Montreal ...

Yes, will be seeing him after Hurley's, maybe before too (bringing Mrs. Mercury there). I can pass him whatever you have for him ...

When he feels better, we will hold a Hurley's in his honour ... He's been so anxious to meet everyone ...

See you all at Hurley's ...

Won't be able to make it tonight!

Pass on a good word to merc!

Now I'm going to try to run after a week off, because of a tension I felt in my knee. I guess it's the year for the injuries!

Good evening

Hey all!

Hope you all have a fun time out at Hurley's tonight! And Chops, have another cider for me too.

Haven't checked-in in a while... busy, busy, busy. Keeping in as much shape as I can, which isn't as much as I'd like. Not much long distance... 5 K to 5 miles mainly. Running one-hour and change once a month. Some bike, some swimming, again by 35-40 min. segments. I've been really enjoying getting back into weight training more seriously in the past few months. The good side is that I feel real good and strong. Mrs. Mars is definitely really liking the buff look. The down side is that I'm just about at 220 lbs., 25 lbs over my running PRs, and 12-15 lbs over my weight of the last 2 years or so.

Hey... I know what you're thinking... but my pant size hasn't changed a bit, even if shirts are definitely a bit tighter in the chest, upper back, neck, and shoulders Doesn't look like I'll be setting new running PRs anytime soon, though...

In any case, just wanted to say hello and wish you all a good evening tonight.

And while I haven't met Merc yet, please send him my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Take care all.

Mars

Hej Mars,

thanks for the update on your activities. Nice to hear from you again.
Hope that you will find more time to run soon. Run a km for me, or so. All the hill-training is currently going down the tube. The docor told me even not to go much with the bike.

Trying this again..hum..problems either with the pc or the site..anyhoo...headed over to Hurleys this evening after one of my attempts at swimming..

The place was busy what with St Pats this week..met up with Chops, nice to catch up, and saw quickly Roly and Knee before I had to make tracks for home..everyone seems in good shape..okay a number of us are on the disabled list - not these three -

Ralf - hang in there, know how you feel. I choke when I think of the past months. Physio has helped so I'm hoping the summer will be good. Any chance you'll be coming to Mtl ?

Mars - hey, nice to hear you are doing well...a weeeee bit heavier but well..ooooh..am I going to pay for that..BUT no mention of breasts.. alright then..

Sally, TB, DR... hopefully the next time.

And the photos I took which are properly colour-balanced are up on my blog site.

Mars: good going, even without the hard cardio, you still come across as super in shape.

Please folks, do not, I repeat, do not mention man-b**bs again. I shudder.

Df: Sorry to have missed you sweetheart, I ended up helping Diane up to the hospital room - just too many bags to manage with the wheelchair and all ... I got there right after you left? How's your mom and Munchkin doing?

KJ, Truxx, Chops, TB, DR: Good to see you all! Thanks for coming out!

JB: Thanks for the surprise pop-in phone call ... we all miss you and hope your work lets up soon ... hang in there, spring and summer is around the corner and your slower season will start again.

Mercury sends his regards and a huge thank you for the card, the book, and your warm wishes. Grommit, he loved the magazine.

Well, off to bed ... hopefully sometime soon,

Sleepy Sally

What? it wasn't good to see me. Explain.

Sorry about the color balance of the photos (new toy) The color affect was set to .. get this... cool.

To much coolness in the photos.

If I change my cool running name from rolyone to my mom's maiden name (Wallace) The you have "Gromit and Wallace" running Jay.

Roly ... um ... no

We Montreal Coolrunners are always cool. We don't need no setting ...

Yes, Grommit and Wallace, not Wallace and Grommit like the delightful claymation pairing, since Grommit will come first in Jay.

Sally dear, I'll forward my details when I get a moment....

I was having a thought as I was driving home from the Montreal General yesterday and it sort of congealed into this...

As the race/event season is approaching we are all gearing up to and training towards various races. I'm curious as to what you've all got planned or wish for [a more concrete version of Roly's how far would you go?].... Care to share? we know that nothing will get between SS and the IM, Roly has Jay and a bunch of other stuff...... but what about the rest of you? ..... We'll imagine for a moment that all our injuries clear up in the next couple of weeks.... and then what?

Here's my 06 gameplan/wishlist:
04/17 Boston,
zero in May [open to suggestions pref. trail 50K]
18/06 Mount Royal Summit Quest 50K... [or maybe the 100! might be too much asphalt though],
29/07 Jay Mountain Marathon,
nothing planned [except some very long training runs] for August,
09/09 Haliburton Forest 100[now I'm commiting myself!],
21/10 Green Mountain Marathon.......

Phew... I'll throw in a smattering of 10/15/20/K's/halves when the timing fits and I wouldn't mind a mtn-bike race just for the giggles if anybody knows of one.....

Having said all that... I simply wish for the good health & good fortune to run when I can & want....... and that Mercury is back real soon to kick my lame ar$e.....

grommit...

skiving as usual

ps maybe Sally could put all our events into one big data base and cross-reference everything...... only kidding

why wont this work?

Very good idea ... let me know folks which races you want to commit to or are considering (I have to know the difference for different coding). That way, it'll give us a type of calendar and when someone asks for who's doing what race info, I will be "in the know".

I'd do this for you all coz Iuv ya.

Chops having freed himself from the burden of planification and the sour taste of broken dreams, he might be at anybody's side at the start of any race.

I share your last wish.
