Perry,
Yes, let's get it going soon. The Saturdays we don't race would be good for a group run/long run.

Thanks to Scott and Steve for all their hard work this past Saturday at the MSO Allegro run. Great Race! We all need to take turns helping out at a race so we can see how much effort it takes to put one on. I know we would all come away with a better appreciation for RD's!

Yo,
I would be interested in doing the long runs on Saturday! As long as they can be finished before 10 a.m. Can't be late to work, or Perry will kill me. Seriously! ha Sounds like a good idea (but who needs water, I don't). Haha
Exactly how long are we talking about?? 10-15miles?? Most likely I'll be able to run with you guys when I get back from home at the end of June. Until then, have fun!
By the way, with tonight's group run I might have to run with you Perry. My legs are killing me from Monday's long run (13.5mi) and last nights (6mi). I know that doesn't sound too much for the amazing Josh Myers out there but he is going to have to deal with it. See you tonight!

I wouldn't want to run all the way out Forsyth to the triangle (run out of sidewalk and too much traffic), so I'd say run out to the second light and get on Rivoli and go out to the triangle that way. That would be about 5.5 to 6 miles each way.

Whichever is best for you guys! That is...if you want me to run with y'all.

I tried to run up Rivoli to the triangle once, and the traffic was bad. Also, no sidewalk that way either.

What I had in mind was going up Forsyth, cut through Devonwood, left on Zebulon (stay on sidewalk), right on Lamar, then on to the triangle. Not sure how far that is, but I think it's about 8 miles or so (16 round-trip). You could always stop and get a drink from the water fountain at Krystal (I have several times).

Count me in for the Saturday morning runs, that is, once I get back to running, still need a little more recovery time. And I'm not so sure I'll jump strait into 16 miles, but I'll be down for doing something, even if it's just the usual 8 mile route, I feel like the point is to actually have a group out there running, no matter the route or distance.

Alan,
Good luck in Swainesboro! I am going to be running at the same time as you but in Byron. I did not know about the race in Swainesboro until after I paid for my entry to Byron. Wish I could be there to run w/ you and Josh. Go get some money!

Sorry I missed you all on Saturday, but I was up in Nashville running the Country Music Half Marathon. Had a good time up there and my 1/2M pr is now 1:46:34. Saw Mary and Leslie at the Expo, and saw that they knocked out a 3:42 full marathon. I want to be like them when I grow up!
Also saw Gary Musolf afterwards and he looked like he had had a good time. Talked to Angela Lewis and she got a PR in the full also.
The course was a good one, and I don't think there was 100 yards where there wasn't a supporter cheering us on. My favorites were the high school girls al dressed as Energizer bunnies beating on drums!
The hills were moderate (nothing like the triangle 12 mile route), and there were lots of water stops. So many, in fact that I got quite good at drinking out of the side of the cup in the side of my mouth! The weather was almost perfect. 53 degrees, but 100% humidity. The wind cut in afterwards so thank goodness for the mylar Space Blankets. The medals are cool and very heavy. Well organized and well attended. I give it 2 thumbs up!

I will see some of you at Byron this weekend....or maybe you will see me flying by you. That is what I am hoping at least because I am at the end of a 6 week plan and I feel strong despite dropping a few interval sessions for soccer games. I am hoping for a PR on saturday....if I don't get I will do one of two things......quit running or train harder!!!!!!!!! I am trying to beat an 18:52 which I have been stuck on for almost a year now. I am interested in saturday runs as well and should be able to make it every other week. I might ride up with David Oldenhouse if anyone knows him. Let me know about these runs. See you at Byron!

AFRunner20,
I think we ran against each other at the Race for the Cure. I was the thrid guy from RunFit Racing Team to finish. I think I ran around 1820s (??). I will be at Byron as well, but will see if you'll fly by me. You will have to run under 1730 or maybe 17 minutes. Haha. See ya there!!

I'll see you guys flying by in Byron. I guess they call it the Battle of Byron for a reason! I won't be setting any PRs, but it'll be good to run a 5K again. I'm also ready for a small local race with less than 500 runners.
See y'all Saturday.
By the way, Perry, sorry I missed the 1st Labor Day RR meeting. Just straight forgot about it. Was anything important decided/discussed? Let me know if there's an assignment I need to do.

Hey Miles.....with a 17:30 you will definitely take me out but I plan on being up there in the top 5. I guess I have run against you a couple of times....I don't know exactly who you are but if I saw you I would recognize you from other runs. I have had some aches and pains this week from playing soccer but hopefully I will be good to go tomorrow. Good luck

Good job Miles...on the BoB that is.....and it was nice to meet you there as well. You will have to give me some training secrets if you have any. That was definitely my best race ever. I didn't have a PR but with all the stinkin hills on that course I am surprised I kept it under 19. I was also happy that I had enough left at the end to kick it so hard. That is probably the fastest that I have ever finished a race before. What did that guy say....3 hills.....well we went up 4 I think and then on the way back we had at least 3 more. I lost count after 3 but that was a tough course. I am getting married in two weeks so I might not be at any races for awhile but I will stay on my training and hit som races in June for sure.

From my inbox:

Can you print this out and post or something at the Running store @ Perry's? Let Scott and Kimberly know too.

--- I sent this to the Cycling club. hehe, Please read. ---

That's right,

Yours truly will be performing downtown at 3rd Street park this
Saturday, the 14th of May. If you can, come down and enjoy the tunes. We'll be playing from 6:30pm - 9:00pm. [On 3rd Street between Mulberry and Cherry Street]

Bring your friends too, as it'd be nice to have a large turn-out.

For more information, simply visit:

http://theinterference.com/

There are some tunes you can download there to check us out. I'd suggest the Maggie May cover, and also perhaps our original: "Sooner or Later".

The event is a free event to attend and there will be kids there as well. The music will range from: Aerosmith, GreenDay, Led Zeplin, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, U2, plus some originals.

Thanks,
Trae

PS. We are also going to be playing at the Macon Triathlon as well! So if you can't see us this Saturday, you should come out and cheer us on (yes, I'm doing the race and then performing. as it should be a really fun time.

April and I went to Dahlonega this past weekend to do the Ranger Run (15K). This race is very challenging, but it is also a good time. After the race, the 5th Ranger Battalion (Training) holds an open house.

The race as always got me at the end. I'm not sure the length of the last hill, or the grade, but after 10K I was averaging around 6:30 per mile, and I ended up finishing at around 7:07. (1:06:11) Even though I was disapointed with the finish, I did improve my time from last year by over 4 minutes. (1:10:30)

April did even better, last year she finished at 1:27:00, and this year she finished at 1:14:10. I was proud of her, she really didn't even train for it.

If you have the chance, you need to put this one on your calander. They also have a 5k run, 34K mountain bike, and a duathlon. Gary does a great job directing. I also noticed several ATC members there this year.
