Looks like I will be running the 12k tomorrow. I got a massage this Wednesday and I ran Wednesday and Thursday night pain free. I'm going to try and get the running back up, but just taking it easy. It was bad not being able to run for a week and a half. See you guys tomorrow. Josh

I had a dissapointing performance by my standards at Geico. I ran a 19 flat but that is right around my average and I thought the training that I have been doing would have helped to improve. Maybe I can put forth the excuse that the turn around slows you down and the last part of the race was all up hill, but nevertheless I was bummed with my score. I definately started too fast. The first mile was 5:40 and I just burned out at the end. That 5:40 is only about 20 seconds lower then my fastest ever timed mile so that is what killed me for sure. Hey Josh.....I saw that little poster at run fit and Perry hooked me up with one because I am on the far left side!!!! It is cool....probably gonna frame it. Overall I would say that Geico did an excellent job with the race. The awards were awesome and the shirts were cool too!!! Perry also told me about the mizzuno fitting and run in April so I am definitely interested. Spencer

Hey I have a question?? What is with the Run Fit racing team. I just now noticed it on the Run Fit Sports website. Do you actually go places as a team and compete or is it just for kicks?? SpencerOh by the way Perry.......the Mizuno shoes I bought on saturday are awesome....I already love them.

Kudos to Gary Musolf, RD for Geico. He put on a great race. The awards were awesome. The wicking shirt is the only one I've ever gotten at a race, the courses were well marked and accurate to the foot. The 12K was challenging (Not a PR course with that huge hill taking up most of mile 2!) but not too much so. The wind in your face for the 2 mile straightaway wasn't the RD's fault, any race in March has to deal with March winds. I had fun. Thanks Gary! Scott------------------

Folks,I still need a volunteer or 2 for the Forsythia. I need a split caller at the 2 mile and someone to do the 1 mile fun run times. Kyle, Iv'e already got you down. Anybody just watching?

I was terribly wrong about the Geico course. It had more hills than I thought and the wind was a bear but it was a well run race. I best be ready for hills with the Cherry Blossom coming up.Perry, I can help Saturday if you need me. I intend to do an 11 miler later that morning so just let me know. Is anyone doing one of the Cherry Blossom races? Steve

Perry, if you still need one on the day, catch me before I register and I'll help out. As sore as I've been since Geico, I doubt I'll be setting any records Saturday! Scott

Thanks for the positive responses!Amber, we'll talk Wednesday about the details. Amber Higgins is supposed to be checking with Scott Higgins to see if he will help. So, if he does, that should be enough volunteers. But, Steve, can I call you if anybody backs out? Scott, if someone doesn't show on race day, I'll try to grab you before you registration. Thanks,

Kimberly's and I are doing the 5K. I know you're doing the Marathon. I know Amber & Scott H are going to Dublin as the CB race didn't make the Run & See Ga deadline. Scott

I'll be running the Cherry Blossom Marathon. How fast is the question. I'd be happy with 2:59 and would enjoy the race at that pace. But, I may step it up a notch based on who shows up.

Great job Josh for winning the Forsythia "Wind Tunnel" 5K! 17:09 in those conditions was amazing! Scott------------------

Thanks to Amber and Kyle for helping out at the Forsythia! Amber, I apologize for not having more for you to do. I thought that we'd have a lot more people in the fun run. Thanks to Scott & Josh for running it. If Josh wouldn't have been there, it would have been the slowest winning time that I can remember. Steve, did you get that 11 miler in? I got my final long run in on Sunday (13 miles). I guess I'm as ready for Cherry Blossom as I can be at this point. Spencer, I typed up a long e-mail about how to get a road race started. Then my computer crashed before I could send it. I'll type up another one soon. Josh has just about talked me into doing Boston. Would it be a crime to shut down the store for 1 day to go to Boston? ------------------ Perry My User Profile

That's a pretty good excuse to close a specialty running store! Don't forget to pick up your Saturday edition of the Sunday Atlanta Journal/Constitution this weekend. It's Peachtree application time again! Remember the 55,000 spots fill up fast. Scott

I agree with Scott. I can't think of a better reason to close the store for a day.

Perry, where can I get 100 free race bibbs for the Allegro Run? I'd heard that Runners World will give them free if youstuff their ads into the race packages. You know any contacts for this program? Or any other bibb offer? Scott

Perry, I did get about 11 1/2 in and really enjoyed the run. My biggest concern is my lack of hill training. Maybe the weather will stay cool this year.Good luck to all Saturday. Steve

I found a source for free ones, and Runners' World is going to send 100 bibbs to the Macon Symphony. Thanks for the offer, though, next time I'll take you upon it. Scott------------------

I'm back from Knoxville. Unfortunately my first marathon was a DNF due to injury. I hurt my knee around mile 6. By mile 14, I could no longer run. By mile 16, I could no longer walk, and that was the end of the road for me. My sister finished and got a nice medal and wicking finisher's t-shirt.I'm seeing an orthopedic doctor tomorrow, and depending on what she says, I may try for an April marathon, maybe Nashville. I'd hate for 4 1/2 months of training to go to waste. How did the Cherry Blossom races go? Amber

Hey guys, I just visited the results page and want to congratulate Josh, Perry and Scott on great races.Perry, first in age and fifth overall is a good accomplishment on a tough course. The course was made a little tougher with some poor support early. Josh, nice run and great win. Was that a pr? Under 16 is moving. Scott, first in age and under 20. You must be doing some tough training. I enjoyed the marathon more this year than last based on my time. I improved about 14 minutes but was a little disappointed with the race support. There was no water or powerade at the second or third stations and the fourth station had an unmanned water bottle. Also, even though I didn't need to use a porta potty out there, someone should have turned the ones back up on Rivoli and Northside. Must have been a kids prank. Scott, where was John Friday night? I'm taking some time off so I'll see ya'll later. Steve
