Has been quiet. Josh, congrats on the Labor Day win.I am starting my marathon training for Warner Robins now so long runs are my big focus. I also have Ekiden ( Scott, we still on? ) in my plans and maybe a 10k or 1/2 somewhere thrown in. You guys that race so often amaze me. I can't do it. Steve

Steve, Ekiden's still on, I have your application and your costume ready. Just need to meet to give the app to you. Most of the team are meeting at the Buggython race this Saturday at Barnesville. it's a 5K and a 10 K. Do you want to meet us there? Or you can meet us at the Shoney's in Forsyth afterwards where we're doing the breakfast bar post-race. Scott

Steve,Thanks on the race... I skipped the Buggy Run and went to Sylvania to run the Briar Creek 10k, finished second overall to some guy from SC..ran 35:07..but after about two miles I just ran it in easy..because I knew I couldn't be the winner and so I just ran fast enought ot hold second. Next race I guess will be the Silk Stocking in Sandersville for me. Josh

Ekiden's October 3rd, but I think I'll do the Fall line in Gordon, the day before. Anyone else up for it? Scott

I want to do the Fall Line....but I dont have any info on it...and I'm really not sure where Gordon is at either. I am going to run in Sandersville on the 3rd, so I might be pulling a back to back. Josh

Well, it's official. No Boston Mini Marathon, no Susan Komen Race for the Cure, no Camp Little Shot race. I'm out for at least 4 weeks with a grade 3 sprain of my left ankle. The potholes on Rivoli got me on Tuesday. Good thing it was after Ekiden. I'm in "the Boot" for the duration. ~~whine~~ Scott

Scott, How's that ankle doing? I know injuries are aggravating but it might give your body a needed break and you'll come back stronger.I'm considering running the Siver Comet half or the Boston Mini. Has anyone run the Boston before? Steve

Ankle's doing fine, thanks. If all is well I'll be back rehabbing early November. I'll miss the Deer Dash, but ought to be able to do the Gobble Jog in Marietta and maybe even the Footlocker Open in NC. Go ahead and run the Boston Mini for me. I was planning on doing that one. Scott

bump*Been a little slow on here again...I just got in from North Carolina and was planning on getting in some good running. The place I was at was about 3/4's of a mile of elevation and I know it doesn't sound like much...but man..it made a difference! And being in the mountains, my legs are screaming at me today. I did a six miler on saturday morning, which wasn't THAT bad...but it only took me about two minutes at seven minute pace to go into oxygen debt, where seven minute pace is a breeze here. Then sunday morning I was planning on going twelve, and after three miles up all up hill, and my lungs hurting like crazy, I turned around and called it a day with 6 more miles. But I consider it good quality running...hills and altitude, I'm heading out here in about fifteen minutes to get my first run in since I've been back, I'm interested to see how it goes. Next race for me, I think will be the 15k down in Albany, won that race two years ago, pretty nice flat course. Josh

I got the boot off yesterday and I'm in an aircast now. Hopefully I'll be able to get my strength back in my ankle fairly quickly, but I'm still taking it easy. Can't wait to run with y'all again! Scott------------------

Scott, I know you must be getting antsy by now. Good luck on your comeback.Just got my newsletter with the Macon Challenge results. Congrats to Josh and Perry on 1 & 2. I'm curious about Alan's winning time in the 5K. 18:55 is coasting for him. Was that right or is he hurt? Steve

Tried to jog once around the track at my school (it's a 200M rather than a full size) but was unable to finish due to 1 leg being so much weaker than the other. It felt like one leg was longer than the other. So I'm back to the PT this afternoon for some strength exercises to maybe get back on track that way. Scott------------------

I just saw the article on the store too and it's a nice write up. The only thing I would have done differently if I was Perry would have been to have Kristy's picture on there instead of Perry's mug. Kidding.Josh, I've done a 19 and 20 miler so far so, so far so good. It was about this time last year that pain started up in my hip so no track work this time. Hope to see you guys around. Stay positive Scott. Steve

Update: Last night I was able to jog a 400 meter lap out at FPD then walk one. Did 4 repeats, and no soreness today. If it's not raining Sunday I'll go for a 1/2 mile out, then a rest and a 1/2 mile back at the triangle. Getting there. Scott

Who's running in Thanksgiving Day races this year? Kimberly, my kids and I are going up to Marietta on T Day morning to run the Gobble Jog. I was able to walk-run 3+ miles Sunday at the triangle, with no effect on my ankle. In fact I was able to run back from the 1.5 mile back without a walk break. Today I'll try 8 laps at FPD Track. Ought to be OK at the Gobble Jog, and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scott------------------
