Good luck in Buffalo, Perry & David. Eat the wings after the race. Look forward to a good report when you get back. BTW I have 40 runners/walkers committed to participate in The Wellness Run tomorrow at Central City Park. John ought to win, Bill in second but 3rd is up for grabs. It's kinda odd not running! The Wellness Race was a success, we had 37 participants. John won, Bill took second, and the son of a co-worker (JV age) took 3rd. Female 1, 2, & 3 went to the Jones Co. Lady Greyhounds as did 1st F15-19. Amber came through with 15 from Geico to pre-register, and we had several to sign up on the day. Steve cleaned out some old shirts and medals, and my C25K ladies lookes like they had a good time. Next I've volunteered to help at Hepzibah (sp?), then I'm done volunteering for a while. Scott

I'm still in Buffalo. The race was the worst disaster I've ever had in a race (was running in 10th place, on target, ran about a mile off course, had to backtrack). More details when I get back...

You must have gone way off course if you're still in Buffalo! Scott

I posted a short version of my story in the Buffalo Marathon topic. It's hard to express how pissed off I was. To go through all that training, to travel all that way... The volunteers and policeman at the place where I turned wrong never said a word to me. I then passed a dozen more police and volunteers as I ran opposite the full marathoners for an entire mile, and none of them said a word. It wasn't until I stopped and asked that I was told I was going the wrong way. After checking the map at home, I see that I could have cut across a street and been back on course. It would have been about the same distance overall. But, the volunteer said that I had to run a mile back to the turn-off, that there was no way to get back on course any other way. What a dissappointment.... ------------------ Perry My User Profile

Josh,I'm still shooting for opening the store on June 12th. But, my to-do list is getting very long. Can you come to the store that Saturday morning? If I'm not open yet, I could still use help getting things ready. ------------------ Perry My User Profile

Well, this is a sort of bump, but I did do something new this morning. I met with Mary Katz, Elizabeth & Tom Jones and a couple of ladies (Shawna and Laura?) that E.J. knows. They ran a 5 miler around Alexandria, Rivoli & Lokchapee, between Wesleyan College & the hospital. They meet at 5:45 on Tuesdays & Thursdays in the Wesleyan parking lot by Tucker Rd. Pace was a little better than 8:45/m by my reckoning. Not a bad way to start the day, and it beats running in the mid-day heat. Scott

Kinda quiet in here lately.Scott, I do almost all my runs early am. I can't handle the heat well any more. Funny how you can change because a few years back I would run in any temperature with no problem. Good luck to you Peachtree folk. Steve

A friend of a friend got me a number. Shhhhh Looks like I will be doing Peachtree. The Kenyans will be on the next day after by the time I get through. Go to the Neighborhood forum/Atlanta thread. I think there's meetup planning going on.

It meets in the parking lot on the corner of Tucker Rd and Forsyth and starts promptly at 5:45am. It has a couple of hills in it, but it's not too hard. Drop me a line if that's what you're looking for. I know it's a way from Gray! Scott

We might slow you down a little. I run a 7:00 pace in a 5K race, but I train a lot slower! We probably keep an 8:15 to an 8:30 on those morning runs. I'll look for you on Thursday if you can jog that slow. Missed Tuesday with yellow jacket stings on my ankle. Suckers got me 5 times on 1 ankle Monday & I couldn't run this morning. Scott

Perry, It was cool to open this month's Georgia Runner and see your full page ad in it. That was a good idea! Also, the web page is a good start. At the Peachtree Expo I had my gait analysed by the Niketown people, and I was surprised to find that I have a neutral gait (with a really weird kick up at the end of each step!) so it looks like the Mizunos you were showing me will be the trainers I get after all. I'll be in to get them this weekend. Scott

Perry - I'm looking forward to visiting your store soon. I checked out the website and my maiden name is the same as your last name - and I have a sister named Kristie. Pretty strange! Scott & Josh both mentioned the store to me on a different post. Hope business goes well!
