Maybe it's just me .... however, I noticed that our thread hadn't been added to by anybody in a while and was slipping down the page..... very strange, nothing to add in 24hrs, no activity..... so I click on it and.... a message telling me that the file cannot be found. Have we upset the moderator?.... has tb been trying to post naked photos of his cat? Ah well I'll start another .... if that ones frozen...... meanwhile Montreal is melting..... and I confess that I wimped out on last night's run. It was raining, cold and miserable.... I had run 6 out of the last 7 days and thought I'd treat myself to a bit of time on the sofa in front of the TV with the kids....... grommit [This message has been edited by grommit (edited Jan-12-2006).]

Alright who violated the thread!I must admit I have been slacking off this week with only 2 small runs since Monday. Over tappering? I have been fealing very, very tired this week and caught my head bobbing up and down and my eyes closing shut at my desk a few times this week. I will try a 4 miler tonight on the road and rest again tomorrow. Chops, not sure yet if I can make it on the 21st, Have to shuffle a few plans around. take care all. roly

Good morning everyone - very wet, dirty out there...civility out the window as drivers zoom by, sending up huge sprays of dirty water...dry cleaners will be doing bang up business.Little to report for me, went from 2 "training" sessions per day over the holidays, down to 1 per day last week, run, swim or yoga and skating for fun to nothing this week. On the Sally plan, hurt my neck, left shoulder big time...and my right hamstring was giving me heck..hence, zip so far...also feeling more tired, must be the lack of sunlight, its been very overcast. Hurleys next week, not much of a chance. TM Marathon on Sunday - can someone re-post the details and time frame ...I would like to come in - an aller-retour- to encourage the racers.. Have an excellent day Df [This message has been edited by Df7 (edited Jan-12-2006).]

Who pull the plug ? For tonight, we have called the baby sitter: from 19H00 to 20H00, I'll be running with my sweatie to kick start 2006. How about a challenge for the 2005 moms (Mme Chops, Mme JoeB, Mme Omni and Mme Truxx) ? Roly: Do whatever you should to free yourself on January 21. You won't regret.

Oh-OH I thought the TM marathon was going to be a relay, I run the first half and grommit the second half. Grommit I was serious about runing this slow between 4:30 hours or more.Went for a run outside 6 k at a 5.45 min/k pace. I thought I was running really slow. It felt like I was runningat 6.30 pace or slower. Its funny my comfortable pace outside is faster then what feels comfortable on the TM. Beautiful night out there side walks and road had no ice to worry about and I only wore two long sleeve tech shirts and still felt hot. next week after the TM marathon I am going to take it easy for a few days and hang out in the clubhouse (CR basement) sitting around drinking beer in my underware. Chops I'll work it out and be there on the 21st. Just hope your not taking us to the backwoods of VT where there are people name bajo boy and billybob looking for a good time. Have a good evening all. roly [This message has been edited by rolyone (edited Jan-12-2006).]

No running for me these days ... last run was Sunday, that glorious Sunday run ... I still remember it. I'm hoping to get out for a decent run tomorrow ... though I must admit, I think this rest is doing my ankle good.Good luck with the TM marathon. What time you heading over Df? We could go over together. I'll have my kids. Will you have yours? Chops: great that you and Mrs. Chops got out ... yes, we should put the wives to a challenge to train and run in the same race. No races for me until ... hmmm ... Sleepy Sally ------------------ "Follow your bliss"

Sort of decided on a pace for sunday.... played around with the tm..... 12 miles 1:33 felt ok HR... steady at 148.... then did a few weights, stetched and then headed for the sauna....mmmmmmm Hey Roly are there any rules of engagement for Sunday? How about we reset the TM's every 90 mins?..... we'll need photographic evidence, of course. Do we have any volunteers for the aid stations.... wet sponges and all that? Are we colour coordinating this week or what? Do we get a t-shirt? has Sallo fashioned some beautiful big medals for us? Oh I cant wait..... Isn't this exciting? DF...... moi a pain!!! oh whip me with a wet lettuce wont you? I'm not nearly bright enough to bugger up the CR thingy...... dont you just love the fact that some very rude, rude words get past the sodding spell check prudes..... but I'm limited to how I address my cat. to bed to bed...... his brain has turned to rice pudding grommit hey chops... where the heck are we going anyway?

Grommit – could get a lot more creative then a wet lettuce, but that’s for another forum… Sally – truthfully, haven’t worked anything out yet, crazy weekend on tap. One thing is sure, I have munchkin, but it will be too early and its too far to schlep her… Who else is planning on showing up at the TM Marathon on Sunday ? Have an excellent Friday, cool runners...

Wanna squeal like a pig, boy ? Don't worry, our destination is ADK (NY). 2:00 drive. Get yourself a pair of snowshoes (ask for a day-hike pair with a good bite, I tend to be vertically oriented), forget the poles, a little backpack, food, liquid, dress in layers (3 on top, 2 on the bottom, no cotton on skin), tuque, 2 pairs of gloves, good socks, a GOOD pair of shoes (usually a winter hiking boot, waterproof, comfy, a bit rigid -you do not want to feel the snowshoe straps- could be rented at La Cordée) + a complete set of exchange clothes for a comfy return. I'll be checking the weather to update the equipment if need be. Last night run with my sweetty: we ran 24 minutes, order a pizza and went back home walking. Ile Bizard 5k, here we go.

G Hera are the official rules from page one of the TM marathon forum. You should try to run it non-stop. Have enough water bottles & gels within reach so you don't have to refill. However, if you need to take a potty break or two you won't be disqualified, but be forewarned that if you are doing this in a gym, someone else might jump on your treadmill, thus forcing a disqualification. So there really is incentive not to stray away for too long. Also if your treadmill has a cutoff time (like mine - 60 minutes) and you have to reset it periodically, no penalty. No penalties for fire-drills, brief power outages or anything else out of your control, as long as you get right back on. But if the gym closes and they kick you out at mile 20 sorry you are sol--you can't resume in the morning. However there is no cut-off time..if you are crazy enough to walk or crawl 26.2 miles on a treadmill, you still get credit, as long as you do it all in one session. In fact if we were having awards we would have a prize for the slowest. Winter ends with the vernal equinox, around the 20th of March. I,m going for the slowest award Roly

I'm not sure if I'll do it this year, perhaps next, cause I think I'm doing New York, though I think there are 3 weeks inbetween ... ooooh tempting. http://www.mdimarathon.org/index.html Sally ------------------ "Follow your bliss"

do you think Martha Stewart will be there again this year? I love Bar Harbour.... took the kids camping there a couple of times when they were just tiny things....seems so long ago, another lifetime ago in fact Alternatively, one week after that one you could join me for a rematch with mother nature who duly kicked the manure out of me 3 years ago at: http://www.gmaa.net/GMMinfo.html Why are we dreaming about next fall? who started this? Am I allowed to run today? it's so tempting? looks like skiing's off tomorrow.... <<< insert sigh of relief here>>> grommit

How come no skiing? It's spring conditions!
I'm not too sure about that race ... "expect the possibility of wind due to the race's close proximity to the lake". Already had the butt kicked out of me with a strong headwind during most of the Niagara course years back. My second worse time. Had to punch into the wind. I'd rather do hills than have too much headwind. I think it's a good idea to start planning fall races ... but will this future Ironwoman's body be able? Sometimes I forget about that part, that the body has to be willing too ... the mind is always willing. In my mind, Grommit, I will run the Vermont 100 with you. Sally

Alright, who's in for a post-marathon celebration? Hands up ASAP!! I am still willing to host ... what time ... say everyone drop by around 11:30 - 12pm after seeing Roly finish at the gym around 11:00? Let as know so that we can see if this idea is feasible and also to know how much pizza to order. Roly, the pizza's a great idea ... I've got the cake covered ... who else wants to bring something. Say, there's a pool closeby for those who want to dip in with me and my kids around 2-3ish ... Sally [This message has been edited by Silly Sally (edited Jan-13-2006).]
