Hate to rub it in Gro, but I was trippin' NO DRUGS PEOPLE - on the fading daylight, then the moonlight..kept checking out the moon, not smart when you're running... just couldn't get enough..There's just something about running outdoors, another favorite time of day is in the summer when the moon hasn't gone into hiding just yet and the sun is peeking over the horizon..the stillness in the air, no traffic...could go on and on and on...OKAY got to get to work URGH !!!!

Egads! Do you think it's cold enough?! No running for me today. In fact no sleeping either, though I'd like to now. Another one of those 2 hour nights. This fund-raiser is a lot of work, and the night before was similar ... so ... what? 4 hours sleep in 2 nights. My trainer Dirk will have a panic attack. Grommit will have a panic attack - he hates when I don't sleep, thinks I'm silly (says the man who will try to do at least a 15k run this Sunday in Sarasota.) And I'm swimming this afternoon ... glug glug glug ...Though as I said, I'd rather be sleeping .... So who's running with me, Dirk, David and David this weekend? Am I to be the only girl? Work is killing my running schedule. I need an event coming up soon to get my a$$ out there more often. So I'm almost committed to this:http://www.mountainmanevents.com/mountainman/assets/sixtunnels.htm Good job all of you that ran Ile Bizzard. Chops, please extent my most enthusiastic congratulations (and a hug) to Mrs. Chop for her first 5 K. That's it. Gotta get back. Mars [This message has been edited by mountmars (edited Feb-10-2006).]

Oh that got a raucous laugh out of me! You're a hoot, but are you going to be joining my friends and I and Mitch on Sunday morning? So you did the teardrop ... I wonder how many times I could do that in a row without getting bored ... Mars: Looks like a great race ... tell us when you've registered ... Sally

'Mornin' everyone. Some of you are already on your long run. I'm doing the X-training route today, a mixed bag of bike, eliptical & pool etc. Ran a comfortable TM 8 miles (12K?) last night in 58 minutes. All of my workouts are based on my MHR or a %age thereof. I never run for distance per say, I establish a time, say 1 hour, and a pace - such as 7:15 / mile - and monitor my heart rate throughout. Works for me.......but definately not for everyone. Hope to do a long run tomorrow @ 155 - 160 bpm for about 1 1/2 hours, as I just had a significant revamp to my orthotics with a lot of cushioning to the metatarsal area to try and relieve a neuroma. If last night was any test, it hasn't helped much, but I supposed there will be a breakin period. To TB, sorry about the numbers, but I want everyone to see how my training for Boston et al., is orientated. I am not obsessed, only aware...... Party time tomorrow with SS? Who's going?

Mercury1:No need to apologise. It's great to keep us in the loop as we watch your progression to Boston. If only my training was as exciting. Completed the Léger-Boucher test last Thursday and I was amazed to learn that my max heart rate had increased. I realise that sounds impossible but over the course of a year (since the test was last administered), training permitted my body to perform at that level and the develop the mental toughness to believe so. I must confess: I wimped out today. Instead of running outside as mentionned, I decided to run on the treadmill. Pretty crazy stomping indoors when it's beautiful out there. Ah.. the comforts of tv during my long run today Have a great day TB

I went for a nice run in the woods today. The trails were hard packed snow and ice that contained lots of embedded footprints frozen solid in the snow and ice. This made the footing very challenging.Great for building some strength in the ankles and lower limbs. If you have a chance to get out there before sunset go for it you won't regret it.

No mountain run for me this morning, can't keep up with anyone because my left leg is still problematic and I've slowed down even more.. : ( I also haven't spent alot of time with munchkin this week and wouldn't want to see the expression on her face as she watches me head out to a hill run..If I can wrap my head around the fact that it is really cold right now, I'll bundle up -sigh - and do my neighbourhood loop..have a pleasant Sunday everyone..Df PART II : Just got in, beautiful sunlight, some wind and COLD ! The 11 year old while munching on her croissant suggested that I "listen to my inner voice" - the leg hurt, it was really cold out and I should stay inside. Then as she saw my mind was made up, she clocked me...pressure...took me too long..but it felt nice. Now to stretch and shower... [This message has been edited by Df7 (edited Feb-12-2006).]

....... against all sage advice I stapped it up and took it out for a spin. Horrible weather down here, very windy, raining on & off and about 52f.... turned around after about half an hour, not wishing to push my luck. Mild discomfort 3/10... sort of pain. We can cope with that... it's on the mend... yipee I now have to put on the corporate smile and go play golf.... arghh! Not my bag at all...take care grommit got a new theme... better content

Thanks coolrunners + guests, for the nice run this morning! We started with 3 Joe Boxer, Mr. Lambchops, and I)and finished with 6 (Silly Sally plus 2)! It was just the normal Mountain run for us all. One loop at the top, and then back. I am happy that I was able run with a climb like that. I have been missing the hills!! Roly: good work on the double Mountain climb! It sounds like you had a great run, and at that time you probably had the whole trail to yourself!! Grommit: I am glad you are healing so quickly! Everyone else.. enjoy this beautiful weather!! Wow! It looks wonderful outside, the sun is blinding me. I wish I could head out for a run but alas, I will be stuck indoors with the eliptical, stairmaster and bike.I'm so jealous of you all! It's always amazing to see the sun; during the week I never get to see much of it nevermind run while it's shining.

I's OK- DR, I ran indoors today too. Did 13.1 miles on the TM as a test on the new "revamped" orthotics. Ran a relatively easy 1:29 so everything is on track for Boston. It wasn't without pain though. 6/10 for the hamstring & 8/10 for the neuroma. I am always forced to change my gait after an hour or so. Does anyone have any info on getting a shot to reduce pain?

Hey there,Just a short note to thank Truxx, MLC, JB & Titus for coming out this morning ... sorry for our tardiness - something about coordinating 3 people, one bathroom, two kids, and one babysitter. What a nice run on the mountain, and a great way to greet my out-of-town friends, David and Dirk. Special thanks to Truxx, Mercury and Mrs. Mercury for coming to my get-together. It means a lot to me. I am full ... and sleepy ... Good night! ------------------ "Follow your bliss"

Good Morning all.Truxx Surprisingly there was a few early morning runners on the mountain at 7:15 am, Hopefully if I am able one day do a quadruple mountain climb then finish up with a run up the Houde. Then I’ll know for sure I’ll be ready for my July race. SS good luck tonight, sorry I won’t be able to attend. Guess I should go see the Doctor for a follow up on the shoulder. Still hurts a bit when I lift my arm over my head. The last two days when I sneezed a wave of piercing pain run thru my left delt muscles. Felt like someone jab a knife in me. Roly

Thanks for the great evening Sally. Nice to meet you Truxx. Maybe we'll do a run sometime. Great meeting all of the invited guests from out of town - Dirk & David. Have any of you gone to bed yet? Maybe SS can send me the Emails of the guests. I would love to keep in touch with them. Loved the cake by-the-way!
