Sue - I hear you on that form thing, but you know me - Not run??? Right / wrong - good / bad. My current plan is to run easy this week, add some miles back and see what happens.I may base train without speed for a long time. My lunch run today felt like normal form, but last night's 20 miler was definately not. I have already ate my way to +10 pounds, so I have to be careful. I have family plans for the Frostbite - I want to do Noodelini(One race each month). And then on to Vegas Paper coverage - I agree, but no big deal here. I am thinking of doing Whistlestop next year as a change of pace.

Istall-Way to go at Chicago!!! Great job on the BQ!!WI MTP-WOW way to go on the 50miler!! Whistle Stop was a good time this year. Little chilly at the finish line but a good time. See you there next year!! Well ran Whistle Stop and had a good time even with the ice and the snow on the course. Now I have set up my training plan for the Fall/winter so that I can start focusing on Grandma's again this spring. ------------------ Jennifer It's all about me

I was very disappointed also - a picture frame for the grabage can and $25. In other years I understand it was considerably more. I guess I should have kept my expectations a little lower. Thats OK - I wanted to run Fox Cities at least once ... now I have done that. I would like to tryWhistle Stop Chicago Detroit Grand Rapids Redo Milwaukee Redo Twin Cities Then I may come back to Fox Cities

no more FC full for me. I'll do the half. I've got Detroit, Milwaukee, or Grand Rapids on the list. The Grand Rapids RD called me after FC. I didn't even get a congratulations from FC RD. I think that is really bad.

Sue - Yes FC does somethings OK, but they also do somethings poorly. The reason I had Whistle Stop is I am intrigued by the Beer and Blues fest associated with it. I think Jill would like that and it could be a getaway weekend. When ever you dial in the Fall, let me know - Maybe it will be a car pooling opportunity? I am pretty sure I will do GB this spring -

Anyone do the Berbee Derby before? My husband and I are doing it for the first time....and only our second race ever. Thoughts? Suggestions? I looked at the course map and see some hills...oh no!

Mu husband and I are running the Berbee Derby on Thanksgiving Day...any advice? It's only our second race ever. The course looks hilly? I'm also a little over a month off of a broken ankle....are the trails rough? think I should wear an ankle brace?

They must have changed the course. I remember it all being on the road (no trails).

I did the Berbee last year. It was about 12 degrees that day with 25 mph winds = felt like -5 degrees! It was crazy! Part of the time the wind was blowing so hard I felt like I was running sideways! It was really fun though - I ran it with a friend. They did have the timing messed up too. They forgot to start the clock when they started the race, so the time at the end was off. Then there was some snafu with the chip timing (at least with MY chip). As I mentioned, I ran with a friend and we crossed the start and finish mats at exactly the same time, yet my chip time was about 1:30 slower than hers!!! Crazy. Fortunately I did not care about my time as we ran my friend's pace, not mine. With all that said, I am definitely doing it again this year! I am also hoping to get a PR in my 5K, so hopefully they will have the timing under control. I have not done the 5K - anyone have any info on that course? I did the 10K last year and has a few big hills in the beginning, but the route is mostly flat or downhill in the middle and end. You run part of it on the Cap City Trail, which is pretty. Finally, there is a decent sized hill just before the finish. It looks worse than it actually is though. They have a nice post-race spread too (although it was too cold for me to hang around for that....). Good luck!

No, the trail is not rough at all - no worries.

WI MPT-I can see why you would have such bad mojo for Grandma's. I think Green Bay is on my list of to-do's but first I feel this need to conquer Grandma's.I am really looking forward to my upcoming race. It was a good time last year and I think that I am going to be in better shape this year. Frigid 8 on Dec 2. Hope everyone's training is going great. ------------------ Jennifer It's all about me

Runinlaw ~No Berbee for me but just a nice 5 1/2 mile run through town - the weather is just gorgeous in SE Wisconsin!! I cranked up the tunes and ran through town. Not a whole lot of cars or people, everyone must already be eating their turkeys. My spouse and I are laying low this year with lots of work to do instead of doing the traditional pigout. I bought 2 turkey breasts and am going to make those, mash potatoes, stove top stuffing, cranberry out of a can, and gravy out of a can Happy Turkey Day to all ------------------ Jenn

I just signed up for the Jingle Bell run on Dec. 9 - should be a fun one. Last year there was snow and the arboretum was just beautiful! I am doing the 5K this year so I will skip the arb...but should be a fun time!
