yes......it was. but everyone kept talking about how hilly it would be.....so expected the absolute worst. So, compared to what i thought it was going to be, it wasn't that bad. How was your race? I did the 4 hilly miles in 33:22. not too bad considering i'm still suffering from ITBs

"NYRR Brooklyn Grand Prix Half Marathon Race Report"...
My 1st 1/2 since LI last May, my longest run since pre-injury last July, feel ok about my gun time of 1:58:39...

Havent checked in here in a while. how's everyone? You guys still planning in running LI marathon, its in a few weeks right?
anyway im way out of shape. i had a lower back injury from work and just as i was starting to recover from that i got in a car accident that put me out for a while. Im back now but i feel like im starting from scratch lol. the good thing is the timing of all this though. i still have time to build back up and train for NYC in nov. (if i get in - they can only reject me 1 more time ha.) see ya,
dennis

I have received a request for information about running trails on the Island. It is for someone who is planning on attending Hofstra and wants to live near trails. Any suggestions?

For my part, I have the following on my Westchester Trails web-site. But I was asked about the Greenbelt Trail.

JP, have them check this out www.lirunning.com/runs.htm
the Bethpage bike path is the one that is near or part of the greenbelt trail. fFom Sunrise Highway in Massapequa to the picnic grounds is 6.5 miles. It does go further though, all the way to the Northshore. This is by far my Favorite place to run. Really spectacular.

Hi All...
Everybody happy that the snow is gone and spring weather is finally getting here...

Everyone ready for the LIM? I was going to run the full, still may but I am leaning more to doing the half only because I am a little hesitant running the parkway and the boredom factor. Everyone I speak to says the are doing the half so I might just run that. Beauty of it I can decide that day.

So, are we going to try to meet up at the race and get to finally meet some CR's face to face?

Suzanne

Hey Suzanne, Here's the LIRR link, it has the direction's under the schedule, there not training runs, they are race's, I'm just using them as training for LI1/2M, it only cost's me $3.00, Sunday's 10k went ok, I'm running even slower in next Sunday's 1/2...check it out!

You tell them sanch!", well I thought I was going to bump our thread up with my race report!,
"did NYRR: Queens Half Marathon Saturday morning", should of made it my LSD, but No!, I have to beat my 2003 time, at least I did (1:52:40), its A bit harder then LI, Hills...But A nice scenic Race!
Hey Robin!, how are you doing since the LI1/2?", what was your time anyway, what was your first half & did you get in your LSD's before the race?"

Take Care...
