Sue, to be absolutely fair, I should have made it clear that Todd Richard Branch (or "Styles" as we like to call him) did not actually post the linked message.Styles has achieved the legendary status he craves on the linked board, which is a site where University of Michigan sports fans hang out. Many of the posters are UM alums, naturally, and we are doing our best to spread our fellow graduate's fame to every corner of the earth. |

Oh no, I realized that - it was a UMich site, though, so it was clear that others have come to appreciate him right in his little corner of the universe. What is so amazing is that one can cull those actual quotes from his website! GACK! |

How much hate mail do you think he gets on a daily basis? |

I imagine that Mr Branch is a bit like the humongous Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man Monster galumphing through the landscape, eyes wide and vapid, permasmile, oblivious to the nuances of the world around him. And the rest of us are like little mosquitos, speeding towards him in an attempt to penetrate that thick, thick exterior only to *ping* *poing* bounce right off.I'm cancelling my Anthony Robbins order. I'm afraid of that cult. Imagine the convention: a tribe of 7 foot tall egoists, smiling toothy wooden grins, conversing by shouting through megaphones, communicating via dumb truisims and not-quite-right homilies... ack! Do they have inner lives? |

That is what I thought. I asked yesterday if this might not be a spoof. I didn't how it could have been real.------------------ "The heartbreak climb uphill." |

Uh oh. Someone called Detroit Mercy Law school. (It's my neighboring city). The secr. said that there *is* a student named Todd Branch enrolled there. Just FYI. |

He's real. The gang on the Wolverine Den board checked this out, as the initial reaction was that it was all surely some sort of elaborate gag. Nope . . .He's in the UM Alumni Directory and everything. The story CallipyG linked about him being an imaginary creation is a spoof. In a way I'm sorry, because it would have taken a true comedic genius to make this guy up. |

Paul, Paul, don't go away! Yes, the spoof was a spoof, but that it was a spoof of a spoof of REAL web page! I love it, I love it! Okay, has anyone in that web ring met him? I really am curious... g. [the ring finger on my left hand is starting to itch. not.] [This message has been edited by CallipyG (edited 11-01-2001).] |

What a hoot! This guy, to coin korts (thanks again!) is the quintessential ASSCLOWN. What I want to know as well as someone else who posted earlier, WHY, WHY, if you were to be a Profesor of Accounting with an accounting degree, would you not have sat for the CPA exam until you passed.??? Even without the practice requirements and if you were not up on your CE credits, you could still put CPA (Inactive) behind your name. And for THIS guy to pass up the opportunity for another set of letters is just difficult to fathom. (Or maybe he just found the exam too damn hard?)From the Inactive CPA herself. PS. Calippyg, keep your mitts off, with the mood I'm in now I could eat this one for breakfast! (and then have to yak him up, I'm afraid) |

CallipyG,Nobody has actually met him, but the checkable facts on his resume check out in re his Michigan degrees and his current law student status. As far as your plans to get hitched so as to get a piece of the projected half billion dollar fortune, you might want to take into account that the two residences listed on his current resume are those of his mother and father. Oh yeah, here's another picture of your intended (whoever said something about bodies in bags somewhere may be onto something):

At least the dude is a runner. From his web page: "Thus, I have promised myself that as long as I am alive and able to run the race, I will keep on running--running towards my goals; running towards my dreams; running towards success; running towards love; running towards happiness; running towards peace--as fast and as hard as I possibly can. This is perhaps what infuriates me most about this whole business. How dare TRB claim the same nickname as Jerry Levine's character from the classic '80's flick, TeenWolf! quote: Originally posted by Paul in Colorado: Sue, to be absolutely fair, I should have made it clear that Todd Richard Branch (or "Styles" as we like to call him)

Sue in NY, as a moderator, don't you think you should have some responsibility to curtail some of the insults being thrown around here towards this innocent by-stander? I mean, c'mon, talk about mean-spiritedness, why do you allow such attacks on a guy who doesn't even have anything to do with the site? What have this guy, whose only crime towards you all is put up his own website, done to you all? Most of you seem to have a good time insulting another human being, yet one calls a terrorist "coward" and you get so bent out of shape saying it's not right to do so. What's wrong with this picture? I think a lot of you just can't stand people who are proud of themselves. So negative! You're all bad news! |
