Keith Jordan, director of the Big Lake Half-Marathon, is guiding this effort. He reports, “As athletes, we sometimes take our surroundings, our environment and our health for granted. After seeing the destruction and devastation accompanying the Tsunami in Asia, we felt that it was important to do whatever we could to help those in need. Through the great generosity of the sponsors and community, we've been able to put together this special event to celebrate the human spirit and do our part, however small, to help those much less fortunate than ourselves. This is not an event about winning.it is an event which allows you to give back to humanity, and to show your thanks for everything that's great about your world and life. Life's worth celebrating and cherishing. Say a prayer for all of those in need, and join in to help out. You might even have some fun while you're at it.”
