This three-hour cruise in beautiful Hyannis Harbor will feature entertainment, celebrities, raffles, food and spirits. All this along with the "The Great Hyannis" Johnny Kelley Road Race is shaping up as one of the must do events of the summer. The cruise will benefit the Barnstable Police Officer Michael K. Aselton Scholarship Fund. The Michael K. Aselton Memorial overlooks Hyannis Harbor and is located on the 10Km course.

“We are thrilled to be involved with 'The Great Hyannis' Johnny Kelley Road Race,” said Cool Running cofounder Dave Camire. “We think it is a very 'cool' idea having an entire weekend honoring running great Johnny Kelley. We hope the cruise will be one of the highlights of the weekend.”

The idea of having an evening cruise was the brainchild of Cool Running’s director of sales Steve Moland. When he presented the idea to event director Paul Collyer it was literally minutes before Collyer had secured a cruise ship for the evening. Collyer is a man who knows a good idea when he sees on.

The evening cruise will offer an environment where runners have the opportunity to meet one another and enjoy the company of running legend Bill Rodgers a four-time winner of the Boston and New York Marathons. Rodgers along with the Cool Running crew will be on hand to greet and meet passengers.

The Cat Sass Blues band will also be on board serving up their unique version of Chicago and Texas Blues. The Boston based band is noted for their blistering live performances, which has gained them a loyal and growing following. So bring your dancing shoes and your running shoes for this weekend.

The cruise will be aboard the 135 foot Brant Point which is part of the fleet of Hy-Line cruise ships. There will be a lot to enjoy on this leisurely 3-hour cruise around scenic Hyannis Harbor. You will see vistas of historic interest interspersed with scenic shoreline, beaches, the Kennedy Compound and, if we’re lucky, a spectacular sunset!

So please join us for a relaxing and fun filled evening as we honor a running great. The boat capacity is limited, so sign up today. To reserve your spot on Cool Running Hyannis Harbor Cruise CLICK HERE.
