Event advertising – platinum, gold and silver packages:
Promote your event with one of our event advertising packages, each carefully tailored for events of specific sizes and needs. For Running USA members we are offering a 50% discount on the gold and silver packages for new clients outside of New England (Platinum package is not discounted at this point in time). New England clients can contact us for special rates.

Silver Advertising Package
The silver advertising package addresses the needs and budgets of small- to medium-sized local and regional events. This offering allows race directors to channel their message directly to runners interested in events in the local area, while also offering some secondary promotion to Cool Running's global audience of runners. The silver package offers:

  • Identification as a "featured race" on local race calendar pages
  • An advertising banner (88x31 pixels) on local race calendar pages and race results pages
  • An advertising banner (88x31 pixels) on the main page of Cool Running's Events section

Each of the advertising exposures listed above include a link to the event's website, if applicable. Rate for the silver package is $360 per month discounted to $180 per month.

Gold Advertising Package
The gold advertising package offers heavy targeting of runners from a specific region, as well as strong promotion to Cool Running's national and international audience of runners, making this package ideal for large regional events that often draw runners from outside the region. The gold package offers:

  • Identification as a "featured race," along with a large advertising banner (120x60 pixels), on the main page of Cool Running's Events section, reaching Cool Running's entire broad geographic audience of runners
  • Identification as a "featured race" on local race calendar pages
  • A large advertising banner (120x60 pixels) on local race calendar pages and race results pages

Each of the advertising exposures listed above include a link to the event's website, if applicable.
Rate for the gold package is $720 per month discounted to $360.

Platinum Advertising Package
Rate for the platinum package is $1500 for the article development and promotion and includes one month of advertising at the Gold Advertising Package. At a $15 entry fee that is only 100 extra runners to breakeven. At a $20 entry that’s only 75 runners. Cool Running Platinum articles normally produce attendance way beyond the breakeven point. Even at the breakeven point, there has been a great awareness created for your event.

The platinum advertising package is a high-impact marketing vehicle for large events seeking to reach national and international running audiences.

Cool Running offers the platinum module in combination with the gold advertising package. For a one-time flat fee on top of the normal monthly fee for gold advertising, Cool Running offers platinum advertisers a 700-800-word spotlight article about the event, which is promoted as the cover story on Cool Running's home page and on the main page of the Events section.

Even after this month of high-impact promotion ends, the article remains in Cool Running's editorial archive as long as the event remains a platinum or gold advertiser. Throughout this period, the article is promoted at the top of the local race calendar page, in rotation with other platinum advertisers.
In addition to this spotlight article, platinum advertisers receive all of the benefits of the gold package detailed above.
