Northwest Airlines Becomes Eugene 08 Corporate Partner

Eugene, Ore. - The Eugene 08 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) announced Northwest Airlines as the newest corporate partner for Eugene 08. SportsOne Inc. secured this partnership on the LOC's behalf as part of its role as the exclusive marketing agency for Eugene 08.

About Eugene 08
Eugene 08 is the Local Organizing Committee for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field, which will be held June 27– July 6, 2008, at Hayward Field. The meet is the Team USA selection event for the 2008 Olympic Games (http://www.2008olympicgames/) in Beijing. Over 120,000 fans, 1,200 athletes and 1,000 media are expected over the eight days of competition. The event will be televised globally on NBC and its affiliates.
Partnership with Eugene 08 will allow Partners a very visible and dynamic connection with the meet. Each of the major Partnership levels for Eugene 08 is designed to provide promotional, branding, advertising and hospitality benefits both on-site and throughout the region.
The Eugene 08 Festival is the primary on-site branding and promotion platform for all Partners and will be the epicenter for Eugene 08. The Eugene 08 Festival offers Partners an experiential branding and promotion environment that creates value. It will be the focal attraction for spectators prior to, during and following each competition session. The Festival will also provide a way for fans without competition tickets and others, outside the track and field community, to experience the excitement of Eugene 08. The design, content, diversity and experiential elements of the Festival will all work together to bring an unforgettable experience to fans.

About the LOC
The Eugene 08 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is comprised of 240 volunteers from the non-profit, governmental, academic, and private sectors. A 14-person Steering Committee provides oversight of 16 committees, which are tasked with the planning of the Olympic Trials.
