LOS ANGELES - (July 21, 2009) - The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously approved returning the Los Angeles Marathon to a Sunday in March, a position it's held on the calendar for 23 of the last 24 years. The vote, 12-0, also ratified race organizers' Stadium-to-the-Sea route, which promises to highlight iconic sites across greater Los Angeles.

After the vote, Marathon officials announced that next year's Los Angeles Marathon - its 25th silver edition - will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Registration will open online on September 1, 2009; route and other details will be released on the race's website - www.LAmarathon.com - over the coming weeks.
