Inaugural Rose Bowl Half Marathon Announced
Start and finish at the historic Rose Bowl

PASADENA, Calif. - (May 29, 2007) - Pacific Sports LLC and the Rose Bowl Operating Company have announced that they have partnered to produce the inaugural Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K to be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007. The event will start at the historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena with the course taking participants on a road and trail run through the Arroyo Seco and returning to the Rose Bowl stadium for the finish.
The Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K will be the only event of its kind in the Pasadena area and promises to draw participants from all over the Southern California community. By staging the race around the internationally renowned Rose Bowl, the event can present itself as a destination race that will offer participants a chance to experience the history and passion for sports that is associated with the Rose Bowl.
The half-marathon, the country's fastest growing distance in popularity, is a challenging run of 13.1 miles that will leave event participants with a satisfying sense of accomplishment. For walkers and families, a 5K distance and youth "fun run" will give anyone and everyone a chance to participate.
The Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K expects as many as 2,000 participants for its inaugural event with up to 10,000 spectators to cheer on the runners and experience the sponsors' expo. This annual event plans to be a signature race that the Pasadena community can embrace as its own for years to come.
