PASO ROBLES, Calif. - (August 8, 2005) - On Sunday morning, September 25, the downtown Paso Robles City Park and city streets will be filled with runners of all ages and all talents for the 7th Annual Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day and Fun Run. For the third consecutive year, the event hosts the USA Masters 10K Championship. The Masters national championship brings the best runners in the country, age 40 and older, to the Central Coast.

"This has really turned into something special for our community" says Mitch Massey Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Advertising for Heritage Oaks Bank and Race Director.

New this year will be the 50 Buck 10K which is replacing the California 10K Championship.

"The reason for the change is simple. After three years of attracting some of the world's elite 10K runners, we wanted to get back to our running roots" said Massey. "As much fun as we had watching some of the world's top runners, we also didn't want to lose our community appeal to all 10K runners."

The added twist to the 50 Buck 10K is just like it sounds. The bank will randomly hand out 50 and 10 dollar bills to those coming across the finish line. Everyone is guaranteed some cash. Let's just say that Heritage Oaks Bank is paying you to run. You will have the option of keeping the money or donating it back to one of the event's four non-profits.

The City of Paso Robles plays a major role along with Heritage Oaks Bank in bringing a marquee running event to Paso Robles.

"Success breeds success" says Paso Robles Mayor, Frank Mecham. "As Paso Robles continues to bask in the limelight, in part due to the incredible array of events and activities, so too does the Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day and Fun Run. If you'll notice, the emphasis is on FUN. And, Paso Robles knows fun. From world class athletes to local amateurs, you'll enjoy the competition as well as the after-race activities."

The Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day and Fun Run is, first and foremost, an event the entire Central Coast community can come together and enjoy: a day packed with all sorts of activities. Besides the two 10K races, there are six other events to participate in. There is a 5K race, 1 mile run, ½ mile kid's race, 75 yard kid's dash, 2 mile walk, the ever popular 100 yard mascot race. Any mascot who enters has an equal chance for the grand drawing prize of $250. Plus there is the Diaper Dandy Dash for Cash where each infant is eligible for a $100 grand prize.

Also included for participants is a pancake breakfast, pizza, smoothies from Jamba Juice, water from Culligan and energy drinks from Propel. Each entrant also receives a collectable race t-shirt from Yesterday's Sportswear and a finisher's racing medal.

If this wasn't enough, the park activities include a children's authors festival, petting zoo, six giant play structures for the kids, climbing wall and reverse bungee jump.

"As an organization, this is an event our entire bank staff has the opportunity to work together in a truly 'FUN' event" says Heritage Oaks Bank President/CEO Larry Ward.

Another big drawing card for this event is the great prize giveaway. KSBY-TV news personality Tony Cipolla will be back once again as the "Official Prize Master". Anyone who enters has an equal chance to win one of four trips to Hawaii compliments of Traveltime, a VIP experience at the Raiders-Broncos NFL football game, plus mountain bikes from K-Man Cyclery. For a list of all other prizes please visit the Fun Run website at www.hobfunrun.com or pick up a race brochure at any Heritage Oaks Bank branch office.

"Another part of this event that makes it so unique is that 100 percent of all race entry fees go back into our local non-profit community" says Massey. "Each year, we select four different recipients. To-date, almost $100,000 has been raised in a few short years for our non-profit community. This year all proceeds will be divided equally to support these non-profits: Paso Robles Public Library, Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum, Fitzhugh Trust 7X camp and the Paso Robles Children's Museum."

Heritage Oaks Bank would like to say a big "thank you" to those partnering supporters who help make this day possible: The Hampton Inn, Yesterday's Sportswear, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center/Twin Cities Community Hospital, Hastings Enterprises, Fidelity National Title, Paso Robles Athletic Club, Jamba Juice, KSBY-TV, The Tribune, Andre, Morris & Buttery Law Corporation, Culligan, Golden Hills Auto Center, A&R Furniture, Phillips Floor to Ceiling, Harvey's Honeyhuts, Idlers, PG&E and Hearst Castle.

To learn more or to sign up for the Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day and Fun Run on Sunday, September 25, please stop by any Heritage Oaks Bank office or visit the race website at www.hobfunrun.com.
