Oakland, CA (February 4, 2013) – Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today that Hawaiian Airlines, Lucky Grocery Stores and GU Energy Labs will all return as sponsors the 2013 Oakland Running Festival. Hawaiian Airlines will serve as the title sponsor for the Four-Person Team Relay, while Lucky resumes the same role for the Kids Fun Run. GU will once again serve as the official on course energy gel.
As part of the agreement, Hawaiian Airlines will give away roundtrip airfare to Hawaii for every member of the three winning relay teams as well as the male and female winner of the marathon.
The Lucky Kids Fun Run will feature kids ages 1 -12 running one of two distances: 200 yards or .2 of mile. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, medal and food when they finish. In addition to sponsoring the Kids Fun Run, Lucky will also provide fruit, bars and other assorted products along the race course and at the finish line for all participants.
Registration for this year’s Oakland Running Festival is pacing well ahead of last year as CSE expects a record 10,000 entrees for the fourth annual event on March 24th. Some events are 68% ahead of where they were at this stage in 2012.
In three years, the event has generated nearly $8.5 million for the City of Oakland and close to $750,000 for local charities.
