FORESTHILL, Calif. -- Nikki Kimball of Bozeman won her second straight Western States 100-mile Endurance Run Saturday, covering the course from Squaw Valley to Auburn in 18 hours, 12 minutes, 38 seconds.

Kimball, one of four Montanans the field, placed eighth overall, behind seven men, and was more than an hour ahead of the next female finisher, Beverly Anderson-Abbs.

Kimball, 36, also won the race in 2004.

Hal Koerner, 31, of Ashland, Ore., won the men's race in 16 hours, 12 minutes, 16 seconds.
