First 1,000 OC Marathon online registrants by June 30 get free running shoes

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - (June 25, 2007) - June 30 is the final day for the 2008 Avia Orange County Marathon Presented by Nutrilite free Avia shoes promotion.

The first 1,000 online marathon registrants at OCMarathon.com to sign-up by midnight Saturday, June 30, 2007, receive a free pair of Avia Endurance running shoes ($90 value). The cost to enter the marathon currently is $85, and in just a few minutes, the registration form can be filled out and submitted.

Those eligible to receive the shoes can pick them up at the Avia headquarters in Aliso Viejo on Saturday, July 21, to coincide with the 2008 OC Marathon Kick Off Celebration. Detailed information about the Kick Off event will be emailed directly to all participants. For out-of-town participants, the shoes will be available for pick up at the Health, Fitness and Nutrition Expo on January 4 or 5, 2008.

The fourth annual event is scheduled for Sunday, January 6, 2008. In addition to the 26.2-mile marathon, a half-marathon, a 5K and Kid's Run will also be conducted, along with a two-day Health Expo (January 4-5). Last year, 12,000 participated in the combined events.
