From Ryan Lamppa, Running USAPARK CITY, Utah - (April 6, 2012) - YES Endurance Sports has announced the inclusion of a new venue and series championship to its line up of off-road trail races. The YES series will finish its season with a 50K Ultra race in the beautiful Jordanelle State Park in Park City, Utah on Saturday, October 6, 2012. The YES series currently holds races on trail systems in state parks near 4 cities across the U.S. sites included Pittsburgh, PA; New Haven CT; Danbury, CT and Salt Lake City, UT (applied).
The YES series has been unique in its vision of making trail racing available to a diverse community of runners by including an introductory 5K race into all of its Ultra venues. This philosophy will not change at the Championship venue and three unique routes of 5K, 13.2 miles, and 50K will be included in the day's festivities.
"We are so excited about including a championship race into our series and the Jordanelle is the most impressive and stunning route that I have mapped out yet. You won't want to miss this race!" commented YES co-director and course designer Mac McCluskey.
The Ultra winners from the 4 qualifying races win a free entry into the championship, as well as free one-way air fare to the event. The Utah championship race expects some talented trail runners, and the winners, male / female of the 50K, will be awarded (free entry) into The Lost Worlds, Tuscany race in April 2013 as well as a $500 prize. The YES series is co-directed by Mac McCluskey of Monkey Races LLC, and Tim Holmstrom of TCC Adventures LLC and Lost Worlds Trail Series.
