[From Ryan Lamppa, Running USA[/I]

At the 33rd Crim 10 Mile in Flint, Michigan on Saturday morning, August 22nd, Enock Mitei of Kenya and Alemitu Albera of Ethiopia were the class of the field. Mitei, 28, dominated the men's race with his 46 minute, 50 second unchallenged victory - 40 seconds ahead of fellow Kenyan and 2007 Crim champion Festus Langat, while Albera, 23, held off countrywomen Belainesh Gebre and Teyba Naser, 53:49 to 53:52 and 53:53.

"I used my best effort to win this race," Mitei told The Flint Journal. "It was a good temperature for me, because where I am training in Kenya it is very cool, the same."

The women's race also served as the 2009 USA Championship and reigning USA 7 Mile champion Molly Huddle (left, PhotoRun) of Providence, R.I., 24, earned the national title in 54:01, good for 5th overall, and 2008 Olympic marathon Magdalena Lewy Boulet of Oakland, Calif. was national runner-up in 54:12 and 6th overall.

With atypical August weather (57 degrees at the start) for this part of the world, more than 15,000 entered and enjoyed the various Crim Festival of Races, an event record.
