May 8, 2013 (Dallas, TX) – The second annual MetroPCS Dallas Marathon Kickoff 6.4K presented by Miller64 will kickstart the June 1 Dallas Marathon registration opening date with a 1,000-person fun run near White Rock Lake. A post-race party will include live music, food trucks and the official hand-off of this year’s celebrity Last Man Running.

The Kickoff 6.4K will be held at 7 p.m., May 30, at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake. The almost four-mile course will begin on Winfrey Point Drive and run down Lawther Drive to a turnaround at Dreyfuss Club Point, then back to Winfrey Point. Post-race festivities will feature a live band on the Miller64 stage, several food trucks and a beer garden furnished by Miller64.

“We look forward to hosting the Kickoff 6.4K with Miller64 for the second consecutive year,” said Kevin Snyder, chairman of the Dallas Marathon board of directors. “This event is a great opportunity to bring the Dallas running community together.”

In its inaugural year, the Kickoff 6.4K presented by Miller64 sold out quickly at its cap of 500 runners. This year the cap has been raised to a total 1,000 runners.

Registration for the 44th running of the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon, 5-Person Relay, SMU Cox Corporate Relay Challenge presented by Behringer Harvard and the Cigna Mayor’s Race 5K presented by Oncor will open June 1.
