Lowery, Monaghan Run to Victory at Grandma’s Minnesota Mile

(Duluth, Minn.) Brad Lowery completed a sweep of the 2007 Grandma’s Minnesota Mile running series by winning today’s Grandma’s Minnesota Mile Duluth. Lowery, of Bloomington, Minn., claimed first place in four minutes, eight seconds. Lowery held off Scott Fiksdal (4:10), of Mankato, Minn., and Roger Cahill (4:14), of Tempe, Ariz., to claim the top prize of $1,250. The 25-year-old won the first leg of the two-race Grandma’s Minnesota Mile series July 11 in St. Paul with a winning time of 4:10.
Duluth’s Kathleen Monaghan, 39, earned the women’s division title ($1,250) finishing in 5:06, three seconds faster than former College of St. Scholastica runner Jen Houck. Duluth’s Katie Koski placed third in 5:16.
A total of 356 people registered for today’s Grandma’s Minnesota Mile Duluth event which featured four separate divisions ― Grandma’s Minnesota Mile, Duluth Mile, All City Mile and the Nike Kids Mile (see top finishers below). For complete results, visit www.grandmasmarathon.com.
