AUSTIN, TX, JULY 14, 2009 -- Brilliant Solutions, Inc. announced today that iRace launched on the Apple App Store and is now available for download. iRace is an iPhone application that supports and encourages runners of all levels to participate in running races throughout the US. The application enables runners to search for races, receive race results, and challenge others to participate in races directly from their iPhone.

iRace is the only race search engine available as an Apple iPhone application that is inclusive of all race distances. iRace is also the only iPhone application available that provides race results and allows users to invite others to participate in a race, making it the premier iPhone application for running enthusiasts. The application features a complete and routinely updated database. Runners can currently search 13,000 races for 2009. iRace Lite was extremely well received and Brant Winterbottom, President of Brilliant Solutions, is excited to release the updated full version of the product.

Winterbottom says, "We wanted to build a truly useful iPhone application that promotes an active lifestyle and encourages people to participate in races." Brilliant Solutions is based in Austin, Texas, which is known for its love of the outdoors. Brant Winterbottom is an avid runner whose race experience gave keen insight into the development of his company’s latest product.

Brilliant Solutions built iRace to utilize the newest iPhone OS 3.0 features, including Apple Push Notification (APN). Runners are notified as soon as race results are available and can easily view them within iRace. This saves time from trekking back to the race website to search for results.

APN is also used to invite -- or "challenge" -- others to participate in a race. When a “challenge” is accepted, the results of those challenged are also viewable within iRace, letting runners compare their finishing times. Winterbottom explains, "The challenge feature of iRace is extremely unique. Many runners participate in races with family and friends, and we wanted to enhance the shared race experience by offering a mechanism to include others."

Even runners without access to iRace on the iPhone can benefit from the application. The product is supported online at www.myirace.com. The site includes many of the same features available on the iPhone version.

The website is also a tool for race directors to upload, manage and share race information. In particular, race directors can create detailed course maps viewable within iRace. "The course map feature of the iRace website is very exciting" says Winterbottom. "Utilizing Google Maps, we have delivered the most feature rich course map application available to race directors today, including topography." Winterbottom notes the initial feedback from race directors is very favorable.

When asked how iRace fits into the overall health and fitness market, Winterbottom replies, "There are many good applications available that support runners in their overall training. However, there is a noticeable gap in applications specific to racing. iRace fills that gap and delivers a solution to runners that helps them achieve their racing goals, while also promoting races around the US that often benefit great causes."
